Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

TV position on the wall because the bed was sideways on which created a ghost effect on the screen
The hotel is very close to the car park so you can park the car and be at the hotel in a minute or two. It is also a 5 min walk to the sea front and Blackpool Tower. Really clean hotel and a beautiful hard wearing carpet on the stairs and landings. Ray was a really great host and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was bang on and filling. The Bar was packed and everyone was at ease. There are even a couple of arcade games to keep the kids entertained. Only negative is the TV in our room was difficult to watch due to its location on the wall. All in all a very clean hotel with excellent hosts and perfect for parking and sea front. Would/Will stop again and would highly recommend to everyone.

The hotel was lovely, very clean, great location and the owner was very freindly and helpful. Breakfast was great and car parking was available for us. All in all a great base to enjoy Blackpool we will recommend the Pearl Hotel and will return.

Husband and wife run this hotel, has lovely atmosphere from the moment of walking in. Was easy to check in, asked if there was an special requirements for breakfast ect. Has a bar inside too which we didn't use as we was out till late with the kids. The room had tea, coffee ect, towels and bedding provided. Small heater on the bedroom wall to heat room and it heated the room really quick and easy lovely and warm.. Would definitely stay here again.

Ray was an excellent host, very friendly and approachable. Breakfast was included and was absolutely fantastic. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel was very quiet at night.

Nothing to dislike!!
Everything was perfect, the owners go out of their way to make one feel welcome. The rooms are spotless, plenty of tea, coffee, toilet paper etc, replenished, without having to ask. The breakfasts are to die for, full English, plenty of it, lots of toast, marmalade etc, real butter, even! Very impressed , would highly recommend, and it is not expensive to stay. They should be awarded a gold star.xx

The bedroom and bathroom were very small but that was not the owner's fault. It was the design of the hotel. It was fine for a short stay.
The host was very attentive and very pleasant. Nothing was a bother. The cleanliness was 100%. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choices. A great base for our trip with easy access to all the shops and the beach front

Would have liked more than one pillow,but even still nice and comfortable, room was nice and warm too.

No issues.
Ray and Amanda were exceptionally accommodating hosts and went out of their way to make our family's stay a comfortable one. The location was ideal for the centre of town and the seafront. The breakfast was really nice also and the stay was very reasonably priced. We would happily stay here again if in Blackpool.
