Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

This room can be a bit noisy as in the walk way to the car park.
Second time of staying at this hotel, just for one night this time. I was on the ground floor in a twin room which was an acceptable size with the facilities i needed, hairdryer for example. The location of this hotel is great being on Berkhamsted High Street a short walk from the station. 20% on food at the sister hotel The King Arms. Very good breakfast cooked to order. Had a lovely meal in the evening, very well looked after with my father in law. Food Intolerances well understood and catered for.

Using the code to get into the annex front door as i kept forgeting it and it was a nusience in the dark.
My room had a very good size modern shower room with a double size shower . The bedroom was a reasonable size for a few nights stay and quite quiet and comfortable. Plenty of space to unpack a few things and sufficient hangers. Iron and ironing board useful.The breakfasts cooked to order at the sister hotel the Kings Arms were excellent.

Difficult to find if arriving in the dark
An intriguing location, almost buried by the Giggling Squid restaurant, and visible only from the car park - itself neatly included in the approach to the Waitrose car park - yet perfect in its proximity to the High Street. A great breakfast partnership with companion the Kings Arms. We'll be back.

It’s a little tired and stains in the carpet and one of the cups in the room was dirty. The corridors could do with a dust as there were quite a lift of cobwebs.
Location is great, checkin was quick and easy, Car Park was handy, shower was lovely and hot and the towels were fluffy.

Dripping hot tap. Reported to staff though. Nothing else really.
The location. Good for meeting Family and Friends. The beds were very comfortable. Lovely hot shower. Nice dark curtains.

It was hard to find, but the directions to the car park sent in advance did help. No lights on outside when I got there. Aircon machine leaking water everywhere and the drains smelt bad.
The central location of the hotel. Was fairly comfortable.

It’s a room not a hotel as there’s no reception or bar and breakfast room although you can have all this at the sister hotel down the road at The Kings Arms for a good discount

Lack of restaurant, breakfast room or lounge. Rooms open directly onto outdoor passageway.
Simple but adequate accommodation at a very reasonable price. Friendly welcome. Conveniently located in the middle of Berkhamsted.

The room was so hot and stifling. Tried to turn the heating down but couldn't. Windows opened onto a roof, which was odd. The bathroom was adequate with a good shower but a very high bath, so it was difficult to get into. I did request a walk-in shower and was told we were on the ground floor but got the bath with the shower instead and was on 1st floor.
The room was very clean and had nice linen on the bed. Decoration was ok but a bit dated.

I feel my room could do with a freshening up in the form of a lick of paint, that would have made me I was getting value for money. Very small complaint but still one worth noting.
Loved the location, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. My room was very spacious, the bathroom was superb and there were no complaints about the actual cleanliness of the room.
