Bathroom was on the small side - difficult to manoeuvre for a heavily pregnant person but fine for anyone else!

Lovely village location, spacious room, very dog friendly, good pub food, great breakfast!

Both for dinner and breakfast we were not acknowledged upon arrival at all. Drinks came after our starter, get the drinks in straightaway!! Also for breakfast we sat for ages and the tea arrived with the cooked breakfast. Small things that make quite a difference. It wasn’t busy at all.

Quality of the food, both dinner and breakfast, was excellent. It is a lovely pub.

Some minor maintenance was required in our bedroom in that the electric razor point did not appear to work and the plug in the bath was difficult to open to drain the bath.

Historic building in glorious setting. The main building and the outbuildings used for guest accommodation had been sensitively extended and updated. The en-suite bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were polite, efficient and hard working. The food was excellent and there were plenty of tables and seating inside and in the garden.

The bed was a bit soft, walls seem paper thin, and the lighting was a bit dark but perfect for an overnight business stay!

Breakfast was great, the staff were super friendly and the room was well-equipped and clean.

    Nothing!

It's location was very convenient (for Fowlmere), with good local walks with two dogs. The garden was enjoyable and the restaurant excellent (and accommodating for the dogs). All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The gardens and garden furniture needed attention, cleaning. We had booked an evening meal in our first night but it was very poor. We waited an hour for our food, when it came the two fish and chips, the batter was black in places and was on top of small greasy chips. The sausage cassoulet was 3 burnt sausages on top of a white bean and potato mush. The artichoke vegetarian dish was returned almost untouched. The manager spoke to us and we did come to an agreement on the bill. Breakfast was more burnt sausages and hard poached eggs. We cancelled our food booking for the following night. Some of the staff were good some hardly spoke to us. Sundays breakfast the waitress left out some of the order, confused part of the other order and again the eggs were hard and the Holandaise sauce vinegary. Very disappointing.

Great location, beautiful village. The property is lovely and the accommodation is beautiful. Very clean ,spacious ,high ceilings.

The only problem was the way the bills were sorted. We asked that everything we ordered be shared 50/50 between the two rooms but then way they were sorted were so complicated it took us quite a while to work out how much each couple owed. System needs a radical change and a much easier way of doing it.

Food and location were excellent. Meals were small but still very good. Staff were very attentive and friendly but not over intrusive.

Evening meal selections limited, and ours (fish and chips) was a bit overcooked. They redeemed themselves with breakfast, one of the tastiest full English breakfasts ever !

Village location is great, easily accessible. A quiet, cozy pub. Great friendly staff - very welcoming. Nice selection of beers. Rooms are comfortable, well-appointed in a separate annex. Comfy bed, too !

The mattress was very solid! I didn't watch the TV but It was so tiny I'm not sure I would have been able to see it. It was pretty expensive

The location, the pub and the food were great. The staff were friendly, fresh coffee in the room including decaff was a bonus. The parking was easy. It was lovely that they had given local info such as the walks.

As it was a Thursday evening there were very few in the pub so not much “atmosphere’ and even with the open fire it did get a bit chilly later in the evening

Our bedroom had a huge cobweb! The outside area of our room was very dark as the outside lights only turned on with movement.

Hinxton is a very pretty village and worth exploring. The pub was very cosy, with delicious food but small portions. The range of real ale was quite limited, but tasty. I liked the pub and staff.
