    better evening menu.

Room comforrtable, bed could have been made up tidier, for better presentation. Breakfast was good. Evening meal only can say it was adequate, limited menu, basic food as long as you had chips.

No finishing touches, no flair and seemed very basic - like a Travelodge. Quite impersonal. First impression was the smell of chips frying and the man at the front entrance standing on the step without his shirt on. People were friendly, those we saw. Restaurant staff at breakfast were nice but breakfast was poor. Very basic offerings for 'continental breakfast' . Pool was full of kids jumping in and clearly used by non residents which made the sauna crowded. Sauna looked like an afterthought and the whole place seemed quite dated.

Room was ok, quiet mostly and able to open the window which was great. Comfy bed.

Nothing not to like. I think the fact that there is no lift is a negative.

Bit dated, staff friendly but bar very intermittent coverage. Bar very quiet during week especially. Food stops at 8.20 pm and very average pub food.

    Location great.

The room was hot. The whole hotel at night was boiling and there wasn't any thermostat control in the room. We tried calling the reception at 1am as it was that bad but no one picked up. We had to open the window and then could hear noise from outside. Also, the parking was an issue. There was plenty of room but no marked bays so we struggled to park upon return to the hotel owing to how the cars had self-spaced.

The pool was useful and it was quiet. Also, the check in process was easy and the staff were friendly.

The constant hum of the ducting outside Room 15 window and the door somewhere that kept banging open and shut last thing and first thing. Not a great sleep.

Lovely staff, great facilities, and dog friendly.

Television poor signal almost to none.

Staff accommodated our request for a room with a bath rather than shower. Television signal was so poor. TV is essential with kids to keep them occupied even after a being out. Swimming pool was good fun for the kids.

    See above.

Stayed here 8-9 March. Great car parking nice friendly checking in and very nice huge room all though it was very old fashioned looking in decor but thankfully very clean. Bed was massive and extremely comfortable with lovely pillows. Bathroom nice and clean too. Then straight down to the bar for a drink….. well just don’t bother! For me it was a instant about turn and went across the road to the half moon I think it was because the bar in the hotel is appalling looking all so miserably dingy. Not a single comfy chair in sight either. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Thought for a moment I’d walked into a 1960’s working mens club. After seeing the bar there was no way I was going to eat supper there so walked into town for food. You never know what your going to get when booking a Best Western I find. The one in Chippenham is outstanding in every respect but this one really is just very nearly okay. I would actually recommend this hotel but only for sleep comfort and nothing else.

The bedroom doors slam shut loudly, which is disturbing late at night and in the early hours when guests are returning late and leaving early for work. It wasn't the fault of the guests, as it is very hard to close the door without it slamming loudly.

All as expected, and a friendly receptionist upon arrival. My room was warm and there were plenty of power sockets and the shower was good.,

Just very tired and dated, needs a major refurbishment in all areas. Beauitful building could be so much more attractive.

Staff and breakfast although the presentation was odd, fruit in portioned plastic pots in a fridge etc.

Despite asking for quiet room I was woken at 5.15 by staff moving/ emptying glass bottle container. No lifts Lack of safety features ie the shower was over the bath and there were no grab handles and the bath had no anti slip features, nor was a bath mat supplied

Location was convenient, old fashioned hotel with bedroom window that opened! Room was a good size.

Bath/Shower in room , shower did not switch over. Bedroom too hot during the night. Decor on tired side. Under the impression I was booking a garden room to give easy access for dog to grounds when it was in main hotel first floor.
