In a 4 bed disable room. Had selected 3 bed room on booking but on arrival room with double bed not suitable for 2 friends. Were given disable room. Single bed not very comfortable, pillow and duvet meager. Double bed ok. Large room but little furniture. I chair and spindly table and stool. No lighting or bedside table by single bed. No where to put things in bathroom. Felt like a budget room but not budget price.

Restaurant and food excellent really excellent both dinner and breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly.

room was a little dusty, few little snagging issues like toilet roll holder and wrappers from previous guests.

Breakfast nice, seemed that the bar staff were ready to leave early at around 10pm when in the past we have stayed in late and enjoyed banter and a few more drinks

During the night, there was some sort of 'incident' which I never found out the reason for. It sounded like someone was having a fight outside the room and sounded like a door was being kicked through ...it lasted about an hour I think ....I was woken by shouting in the early hours of the morning...I didn't dare open my door for fear of what I would see...I really hope the staff were ok .. I've stayed here a few times for work and never had any problems before .. however...the mattresses could probably do with being replaced now ....and some big bath sheets would be nice. The breakfast is always superb.

Fab brekky, super friendly staff, nice warm room

Heating clicked off during the night and it was freezing! We couldn’t find where the thermostat was but blankets were on the beds so not too much of an issue.

Clean and spacious for a family. Quiet. Excellent location for going to the polar express which was the reason for our visit. Used the bar at night for a couple drinks and bar snacks. Food was lovely in particular everyone liked the fat chips! Northallerton isn’t too far too which has loads of shops, restaurants etc

All good, I would have appreciated a couple of chairs in our room, not that there would have been much space, but would have saved sitting on the bed, but it was a comfy bed, so not complaining.

Location: Ideal for visiting friends in Brompton and meeting up with relatives in Northallerton.. Lovely village and friendly, welcoming pub/ hotel. Food was very nice too.

Sadly the family room layout wasn't great, one single bed was tucked away into a corner with barely room for my son to get in and out and no light that side of the room. The double bed had a memory foam mattress that was very, very soft - perfect if you like sleeping on marshmallows but sadly extremely uncomfortable for us. Unfortunately we were running a little late on our last morning and we were very rudely reminded 'you realise your check out time is at 10 don't you' at 9.45 about 3 minutes after bringing out our childrens' breakfasts... whilst I totally respect thst check out times being adhered to is a necessity for cleaning and so on, i didn't appreciate being told so rudely when it was clear we'd had an interesting morning with 2 small children in tow. When I asked about where to drop off the key, I was told 'X will be waiting for you', making us feel like we would be watched finishing our packing and leaving the premises... X never turned up and we left our key in the room door and drove away at exactly 10.02am...

Beautifully decorated big room, clean and had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast (although small portions), plenty of parking, nice quiet location yet good for transport links. Fabulous hot and powerful shower!!
