Breakfast wasn't offered as an option on the date we stayed, so bed only. However we knew this but £100 a night seemed excessive for what we got. No one there when we arrived, tried to ring owner. When they arrived we were given door key and they left. Stair carpet was dirty. No additional toilet rolls in room and hardly anything left on existing roll. Another guest asked how to contact owner as they had no towels in their room! Taps on handbasin worryingly wobbly. Lights around bathroom mirror not working. Shower dirty. Big stain on carpet, it seemed damp. The night we stayed they seemed to have a party until after midnight. On the plus side the bed was really comfortable and this is a good location. I believe this property is now sold stc so maybe the owners weren't too bothered as previous reviews have been pretty good?

Location was good, near enough to town and far enough away to be quiet if you don't want noise. Comfortable bed.

Unfortunately things like the WiFi not being switched on, the room lacking some amenities (one spoon for two people and the spoon itself was grim), and the mattress where you could feel every spring was a turn off. Felt like we paid too much in the off season for this, and no breakfast too.

The location was great and the street parking was easy to manage. The host allowed us late check in.

The view was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. Had no issues parking right outside (on street parking). The staff we interacted with were very lovely and helpful.

-Mattress was really lumpy which made it difficult to get comfortable-not impossible, just tricky -No info in room on what to do if you need assistance -The radiator never seemed to get warm after being turned up -Shower was so hot the first time I tried it out that I couldn’t use it properly-think the temperature knob seems a bit temperamental-maybe stiff or something? (but as above seemed ok the next two nights, temperature knob might need looking at though) -Switch for bedside light quite difficult to get to from the bed -Loose sink tap -Shower head kept dripping after being turned off - although I just put it on the floor of the shower so it didn’t keep me awake, so no biggie (but it does mean water will be getting wasted!) -Carpet quite stained which made it look quite dirty -No towel rail -The TV was a bit a wee

-Really beautiful decor/furniture in the room and hallways -Pillows were really comfy -Duvet was lovely and cozy -Shower was great once you got it to a comfortable temperature (see below) -Fairly quiet -Owner was friendly (and I was greeted by her doggies :D ) -Very laid-back feel - no rules about having hot food in the room or any of that kind of thing, and late check-out time

The stairs are a bit steep also no breakfast facility which is unusual but a good eat as much as you like breakfast a 100 yards up the road in A Toby carvery.

The property was very clean and warm we had a front facing room over looking the sea which was nice with a balcony table and chairs for the lovely evening sunsets, bed was amazing soooo comfortable, nice white fluffy towels too 😃

We were told we could check in early, so we arrived when was expected, to find we were waiting outside in the rain for 7mins, nobody answered the phone or the door, when someone came to the door I was given keys to the room but then told the room wasn’t ready? I think it was a miss understanding between staff. Bit annoying .. we had the family room, but please note it was at the top of the house! X2 staircases Don’t take to much.. stuff!!

Single bed was fold up & seemed not very. Stable do had to share double with my friend & breakfast included would have been nice . Also no spare toilet roll only half left to share .

The lock on my door didn’t work

This was my second visit , I was so impressed last time I knew I would return. The Waverley guest house is clean and simple, well suited to solo or groups.

Bathroom could do with updating, taps and shower didn’t work properly. Shower too weak to rinse long hair but could be because of limescale build up on it. Damp smell in the room and the air vent didn’t seem to work in the bathroom.

Great location just by the beach. Close to the restaurants and places to go out. Room looked beautiful and had a sea view. Bed comfy.
