Our room was nice and decent, but need a proper blackout curtains, we were behind the car park, the Lamport light was seen through couldn't not get a good sleep.

The only minor poor bit was the decor of the hotel. It is a little tired around the edges and the rooms could do with a decorate. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for and I only paid £60 per night for a double room including breakfast. Couldn't ask for more!

The staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after me throughout my stay. The breakfast (included in my rate of £60 per night) was excellent with a good choice of cooked or continental. The food arrived fresh, perfectly cooked and hot!

Quite noisy 1am 2am. People chatting loud smoking. On the benches outside near restaurant. I could only open my window half way too so I felt hot during the night.

The area is nice. Cosy pub. Good band on the Friday night I stayed.

Room very tired decor Peeling furniture varnish threadbare carpets. Breakfast coffee in butlers . Coffee is an important drink nowadays a proper coffee machine please.

The smell when entering the room, damp patch on the ceiling, toilet flush not secured properly, hot and cold fluctuations of shower.

Breakfast, how friendly the staff were (front of house and housekeeping), fulfilled our requests for the room as well as refund when full Breakfast wasn't taken.

Bathroom floor very uneven Toilet seat slips towards wall when sat on. Sink in downstairs disability toilet area looks awful, whole area needs attention.

Found the stairs and bit challenging. We where in room 24 nice and clean but think a blind or net curtain would of been nice as apartments opposite and this would of given a bit of privacy. Very pleasant

Rooms and hotel is extremely dated. Creaky floorboards. Room was in some serious need of TLC lots of damage and stained carpets

Number of stairs to my room made it difficult when carrying luggage. Carpet in bedroom was threadbare in places. The hotel is sorely in need of updating. The bedroom was very warm and radiator didn't want to be adjusted! I resorted to propping the window open.

Very friendly manager. I had a nice evening dinner in the restaurant, listening to Fleetwood Mac! Central location and free parking in the rear car park. Bed was very comfortable..

It's an old building, and I guess they have old plumbing. The shower had no pressure. The only way I could get a dribble of water to come out was to apply a lot of cold. This made for a refreshing experience rather than an enjoyable one.

The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were lovely.and friendly

Just the cold shower but this was reported and fixed in a jiffy. I have stayed on several occasions before and this has never been a problem so it does not affect my rating unduly.

Always a wonderfully friendly and accommodating hotel. Excellent free parking for the day of the stay - useful for court users as only five mins away from the court. Cleanliness is superb and the beds are so comfy.

Room lighting was poor and couldn't be resolved. Staff tried to help and we declined a room change. Disruptive room neighbours in early hours. Management sympathetic and helpful.
