The lighting in the dining room was not good for anybody with impaired vision. There was a small lamp on each table. I asked for another lamp to be supplied and the waiter very kindly provided one which helped me to see what was on my plate.

Our experienced was soured by the loud music that was playing throughout the night, we came to this hotel to relax as it was our first child free weekend since the birth of our first son last year. Had we have known there was going to be an event on, we’d have booked for another weekend instead; we came here to relax and enjoy a well earned rest but found that we didn’t sleep much at all due to the noise.

The staff were friendly and the facilities were all very impressive, we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and we felt we got value for money with the room itself.

Couple of minor cleaning issues in the room. Changing room at the spa, floor didn’t look as though it had been mopped/ dried for a while but clean overall.

Hotel upgraded us to a suite, nice large room. Lovely old building, impressive. Great breakfast, lots of choice. Nice spa with good sized pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The Spa area had a lovely feel on entering it & the staff seemed very friendly. There were a few areas that need addressing, the floor in the ladies changing rooms was dirty & VERY slippery ( i did let staff know & they went to sort it). The floor around pool area was clean but VERY slippery & made me quite anxious, i’m assuming this is an issue & probably a common concern . Every poolside lounger was taken by towels being placed on them, even though people weren’t using them as they were swimming or using the Sauna/Steam/jacuzzi. There was nowhere for me to put my towel, definitely need some hooks & some more seating providing. As a resident at the hotel i expected to be given a robe to use but only given 1 towel. I did enjoy my swim, the pool was a great temperature & a good length.

The only part of the stay which really did impact and can be commented on is the heat in the rooms. We were provided with a fab, however it was still extremely hot with no air con. This made it hard to sleep at all on our nights visit.

The child swim time was 7-9am and 5-7pm. I have a teenager and the 5-7pm was the best time for us to swim. We chose the hotel because of this facility. When we arrived at the pool we had to queue and ended up getting in the pool at 6.35pm. We were not offered an extension and when it is adult time the children have to leave but when it is children’s swim time adults stay in there who don’t have children and means there are too many people and we have to queue. It’s very disappointing that I paid extra for this but didn’t benefit from it. They care more about their day spa customers than their hotel guests.

Rude reception staff, no robe available or slippers for the spa unless I booked in a more superior room. Ordered room service that didn’t arrive. Wasn’t given any clear directions and felt a bit lost at some points. Staff in the restaurant and spa were lovely and helpful but when asking reception for information, they were rude and unwilling to help. Made me feel uncomfortable and like they weren’t interested. For the price I paid and as a solo traveller, booking to use the hotel to have a relaxing time, I was made to feel rather uneasy and anxious by the reception staff.

Completely honest review... Bit of a shame that parking is so expensive- £15 on top of the £155 we had paid for our room. We knew this was the case, but we felt it was very expensive when you've paid alot for your room already. The window in our bathroom was super drafty and made the bathroom very cold. The basin and shower both flooded with water when used, as they need to be cleaned out / un blocked. Breakfast wasn't great. The selection was good, but the quality of the cooked breakfast & pastrys need improvement. I had asked for some fresh hash browns as the ones at the buffet were rock hard and chewy- they were replaced with raw undercooked hash browns which were inedible. Shame. The hairdryer In our room had such little power, it took a very very long time to dry my hair 😂 The spa needs a bit of attention. The outdoor hot tub would have been lovely to use as the sunshine came out for us today, but it was green and quite smelly. Just in general the spa could do with a bit of TLC.

The staff were friendly at check in / check out. We had to pay an extra £20 for an upgrade to be able to check in early- but we were very grateful for this as we needed to get ready for a wedding after a 4 hour car journey. We were also allowed an hour extra before checking out as we needed access to the fridge in our room. This was very much appreciated. The room was big and clean and had a comfortable bed. We enjoyed the fresh warm cookies on arrival, and had a peaceful night's sleep in a nice quiet room.

Location was good , There were no slippers and bathrobes in the room . The room was cold ,They forgot to clean the room on the first day morning.The room was for disabled persons so there was no shower cabin so everywhere was wet .

Price for parking was very high. £15 a day.

Room was large with comfortable beds, good showers, plenty of chairs in the room. the decor was very tired and the carpets were also. The hotel was conveniently placed to see all the sites. Swimming pool was superb with very good sauna and steam room.
