Nothing to not like really. I guess my only comment would be that we did have our dogs with us and were on the second floor with quite a long walk through the hotel to get them out in the morning.

Lovely old grand hotel within a 5-minute walk from Harrogate town centre. Parking is on-site, although administered by Harrogate Borough Council so a charge is applicable. Dog friendly too so even better. We only stayed one night and skipped breakfast so can't really comment any further.

Breakfast was not included in price. Rooms a bit basic and decor tired. Not enough tea, coffee, milk in rooms had to keep fetching it from reception. Had to ask for blanket as room not very warm. No option for latte or cappuccino or flavored teas just filter coffee or tea! Also toaster so slow you had to queue while food going cold. Room service is not room service if you have to go down to reception to order it. Also phones did not work properly. Could only get 4 channels on TV. Until maintenance man came to fix it.

It was walking distance to town. Price was ok food was very good except no options for latte or cappuccino or flavored tea.

Having to pay £10 to park in an empty car park and being told it is only until 12 noon the following day. Hindering a day of exploring Harrogate.. Car Park was virtually empty for the duration of the visit.

Second room was basic and very small , restaurant was freezing , curry husband had was dreadful , dry and not like a madras at all

It’s an old building .. the bedroom was very dated, yes new ish dark wood furniture.. looks very very dated . Not even in the competition !

It’s not the hotels fault if you have noisy guests. You had guests coming and going still at 2am in the corridor shouting and banging doors. Also I did pay the £10 extra for the staff which was already written on my bill .. A bit cheeky that! I was only there one night and it’s a self service breakfast and you’re only checking in at 3pm and out at 11am ( old days were 2pm-12) .. I have given staff £10 in the past after I had stayed a week .. There’s plenty of choice of hotels around who don’t ask for this ..

The room was a little noisy. It's an old building with creaky floors, but I could also hear loud music from beneath my room.

Lovely atmosphere, helpful staff. It was very quiet and peaceful with a lovely comfortable lounge where you could relax and have a coffee etc. The breakfast and dinner were very good and always hot.

The rooms themselves were in need of a lick of paint and the television somehow only wanted to show non-bbc channels? Otherwise lovely.

It is a lovely site, very close to the town centre and the convention centre. Rooms spacious and I absolutely loved the shower! Breakfast was excellent and I enjoyed both the hot and cold buffets and the separate order from the menu the second morning.

Only thing I didn’t care for was that the bed wasn’t very comfortable but that is personal preference. Would not put us off going back .

Very central to everything, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms very cosy and welcoming and spotless. Every area was lovely, comfortable and cosy.

The WiFi was not good in my room and the TV reception was poor. The TV was in a strange place to be able to watch comfortably. In my opinion the room needed to be set up in a different configuration. I was quite cold the first night and needed another blanket (supplied without fuss the second night.) The duvet was a summer weight one in February, so not adequate.

The breakfast was fairly standard and I had everything that I needed. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The staff were polite and helpful, responding to requests efficiently. The room was very clean. The hotel was located within walking distance of my conference so very convenient.

The staff were very nice especially the receptionist. The breakfast was very good. Location wise, it is just up the hill from the Pump Museum. I always prefer the old world charm of hotels like this to modern ones. I would happily stay here again.
