United KingdomThe room was very hot even with a window open. I can't always use air conditioning as I am asthmatic and they can sometimes trigger the asthma. We were woken up at 1am by shouting and door banging. We did call down to reception who did speak to the people in question. The noise did continue for a short time. It was a shame that it happened and disrupted our sleep.
We liked having access to the spa facilities. The bedroom was a good size and the bathroom a good size. The bed was comfortable.

United KingdomThe main issue was the extremely soft and uncomfortable mattress. This wasn't just our room as had a relation with us in another room who also mentioned this issue. It meant we all suffered with back pain after sleeping in the beds, simply do not expect this in any hotel let alone one of the quality. Also the room was dated, it needs redecorating especially the bathroom.
The breakfast and spa facilities were excellent, as was the overall ambience of the hotel.

United KingdomIn the room the sheets were soft and clean but the bedspread smelled unwashed. There was coffee and herbal tea but no regular breakfast tea, though we could buy this in the Orangery. The terrace could do with more seating as the sun is coming out now and many guests wanted to be outdoors in the afternoon sunshine. At breakfast the scrambled eggs seemed to be heated up from a larger batch and were grey in the middle which was disappointing. The rest of the food was great.
The Spa Hotel is a short and pretty walk from Tunbridge Wells' central Pantiles shopping area and the fantastic Thackeray's restaurant. The hotel room and bed were very comfortable with a large bathroom and soft pillows. Staff left a card and chocolate fudge with good wishes for our anniversary in the room. The grounds are beautiful and the tennis court well kept and very convenient, yet not overlooked. The pool is small and cool but lovely for a dip, with sauna/steam rooms/changing rooms/gym all convenient.

The hotel building was attractive, with well-furnished, welcoming public areas. My room was a good size (deluxe). It was beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished. United KingdomThere was only one staff member at Sunday breakfast that was a bit clipped/bit cold towards my cousin and I. He wasn't like this with other guests, which was strange. Unfortunately didn't get his name, he should bear in mind to check his unconscious bias when working in hospitality. Just had to call this out, other than that this didn't completely ruin our experience.
Was looking forward to this mini break, and wasn't disappointed! I liked everything! I was really happy my cousin also liked the hotel and what it has to offer as well. The room was gorgeous, the bed so comfortable. The water pressure from the shower was strong. The grounds are stunning, and the spa treatments were perfect. I wish I stayed another night. Most importantly the staff were warm, professional and accommodating. A big credit to the hotel!

United KingdomFirst impression, the reception is a bit disappointing ie feels tired in design terms as you enter the hotel. In terms of operations, it would be good to have staff reset dining tables once guests have finished their breakfast as the clatter being made does detract from the experience and feels less than 4star. This is partly down to the hard surfaces reflecting the noise and to feel comfortable, adding rugs would help. But overall a very good hotel that could be really great with a few design uplifts.
The size of the hotel feels grand and is set in a really great location. The room felt comfortable and generous including the bathroom and the bed was sumptuous. The dining room uses attractive colours with views of the lovely garden and the gardens are wonderful to walk out into, a real asset. The spa is a great facility to have although small and restrictive in places.
