눇Lovely little rural retreat, if you want to get away for a short break and love peace and quiet this is definitely for you. Staff were really friendly, food was good and drinks were very reasonable. Would definitely come back

눉1. We accidentally booked a single room. Upon arrival we were charged an extra £20 for this mistake - despite there being a double bed in the single room anyway. For this extra £20 we received an extra towel, an extra packet of biscuits for our tea and an extra bottle of unbranded shower gel. £20?!? For this price I would of expected Fortnum & Mason biscuits and sanitary products, and a towel washed in champagne and dried on a beach in Cannes. 2. My brother and his fiancée stayed here for £35 CHEAPER; http://thequeensarms.com/sleep/rooms/ HERE!!! A 5 star county pub and hotel, 15 minutes away, beautiful bar and terrace, incredible gin list and the best BBQ'd beef burger outside of West London. 3. My partner asked for a newspaper to accompany her breakfast. There were no newspapers in the building. A Sunday newspaper, on a Sunday. How dare she. 4. We were charged in total £115 to stay in a room that I can only describe as something straight out of Fawlty Towers. Think mint green bathroom suite, heavy red carpets, thick painted wooden beams with a dark oak primer, doilies hung next to watercolours of flowers. Vintage red vases sat next to a jar with plastic flowers in. My Granny (may she rest in peace) would even say this was out-dated. 5. The kettle in our room was from the early 90's and made a foul smell upon reaching boiling point. 6. We had one window and no form of ventilation, in mid-summer, this was testing to sleep in. 7. We were called at 10.40am to prompt our checkout. I am not sure why this was necessary unless The Duchess of Cambridge was downstairs waiting to check in. 8. We paid £115 to stay here. 9. The pub & bar area was more depressing than the colours the walls were painted in. 10. I would happily, HAPPILY stay here again if we were charged a more fitting rate of £50 per night for a double room.
