The carpet upstairs let the place down as it's worn out in places but I know you are going to revamp the place so expect these will be replaced in the future

The phone in our room was broken so we couldn’t call down to reception. The tea station looked like it hadn’t been stocked in a while, there was only decaf coffee. The breakfast was not great, bit disappointing considering the price.

We stayed in room 3 and it didn’t have a shower! There is a tiny shower head on the bath, the bath that doesn’t have a shower screen/curtain and there’s no bath plug. Made showering very difficult and kept flooding the bathroom, please install a proper shower for your next guests as that one would be better for washing a dog!

There is no lift, which I think is disappointing for older people or people with a disability. However, I'm sure if a downstairs room was requested they would do their best to accommodate.

Breakfast selection very poor, full English was really the only selection available. No fruit, no muesli or cereals no selection of juices ,no pastries. On request I was given some cornflakes on the second morning and was also able to get apple juice. Dinner o.k but not very inspiring.We had requested adjoining rooms but on arrival were told that one room was in the main hotel the other in the annexed explained that we had asked for rooms together but was told that Booking .com were in charge of allocating rooms. After some discussion we were given 2 rooms close to each other, one of theses was totally unacceptable but was changed without any fuss.This hotel although inagood location and blessed with friendly and willing , though in experienced staff ,does not merit a 3 star rating.

1. room 9 … in the top floor … really stuffy … not able to open windows for fresh air … and the bath surround and bathroom floor needs attention 2. The breakfast chef did his best but the bacon was over cooked and dry … and as for the poached eggs (HARD).

Some uncertainty re communication between management staff and customers eg whether room would be refreshed each day. Perhaps bottled water could be available in bedrooms?

The room was very dated. No full length mirror. The lights are too dim for make up. Mirror too far away when sat at desk to see anything. Wall paper ripped under the window, looked very tatty. Water leak on ceiling and walls. Spoon in room had tea stains already on it before use.

The location was perfect for my visit. The hotel has a rustic charm, expected of an old ‘coaching house,’ but the staff were very attentive and helpful. The food, prepared by Curtis, Paul et al was excellent.

Central location, we travelled to attend a family wedding, we contacted the hotel to request early check in and the hotel was very accommodating and our room was ready and made up for us early so we were able to arrive and get ready for the wedding at the hotel.

Slightly tired & could do with a lick of paint in some areas. Cobwebs on the ceiling in our bedroom, our window was rotten & would not stay open & no dressing table stool so had to kneel on the floor to use. Unfortunately I think this is overpriced for a 3* hotel

Overall a satisfactory stay but a little shabby. A family member with mobility issues found the stairs a little challenging but that is life - we just needed to be supportive and aware of this.
