The room was super comfortable, immaculate and modern decor inc hot drinks and biscuits. Although advertised as a small double, just for myself it was more that adequate. Lovely clean bathroom, hot showers and great toiletries as well. The hotel is very beautiful inside and out. The breakfast in the morning was superb and the staff were very polite and accommodating. Central to the Ottery St Mary town so easy to walk in and beside a large Sainsbury’s. I highly recommend a stay here and hope to return myself sometime in the future.

We stayed here whilst visiting family and will stay again next time we are in the area. Really great food - beautifully cooked dinner and breakfast. Really friendly welcome from the owner who couldn't have been more helpful.

There were some dated aspects to the room with poor lighting, old lightbulbs and old style curtain fabric detracting from the modern bed frame and chairs. Just a few simple changes could have made our room feel much more upmarket.

This very old hotel is a lovely place to stay close to the centre of Ottery St Mary. Parking is effortless and close to the entrance. Staff are warm and friendly offering really good advice on local amenities etc. The breakfast was really well organised, relaxed and everything was perfectly cooked, even accommodating my request for "well done" grilled tomatoes. Such a nice touch to offer local apple juice and although I don't know whether the honey was local, it was gorgeous. The room was nice and had all we needed for a comfortable stay, the mattress was very good indeed and we both slept well. Overall a really lovely stay and we would definitely return. Thank you!

The hotel has character. The location is by the river and very quiet with minimal light pollution. On the doorstep a 10 min walk away are a number of pubs and takeaways. The family who run it are very approachable. The breakfast is cooked to order no buffet. The bacon and eggs are locally sourced. The eggs with that deep yellow orange colour. Car parking is free and spacious

The bed was comfortable but the duvet rating was 10 so totally unsuitable for the season even with our current weather conditions. Suitable for the Arctic! There’s no way I would have slept under that so a bed remake was necessary.

Lovely, clean, decent property that is well located in the village. Really great hosts, they were very welcoming and gracious, and were full of advice and suggestions on what to do and where to go. Dinner was very good, suggest eating in the hotel as the pricing was very good value for an excellent menu. Would definitely stay again!

We were on a cycling trip, the hotel was everything we needed, the hosts were very accommodating, clean rooms, hot meals and a shared space to play board games in the evening.

The incorrect postcode made locating the hotel difficult but the instructions given over the phone solved the problem.

The whole experience of staying at the Tumbling Weir Hotel was enjoyable. The check in was welcoming and the room clean and comfortable. The food, including dinner, plentiful and well cooked and presented. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.
