Limited breakfast choice- no cereals on offer just cooked breakfast.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed and it was just as good as last time. Dog friendly room which was lovely . Would recommend booking evening meal as can only sit in bar with dog and it gets busy. Food was nice and good selection of drinks. Location is lovely and nice walks nearby.

Room was a bit tired, in need of a refurb and also noisy (heard other people above us walking about and some kind of machinery outside). Window wasn't very sealed when closed.

Location is beautiful, staff friendly, nice old building with character, good breakfast, comfortable bed.

The Village Inn is in an amazing location, with wonderful views and a very inviting front lawn garden. The room was just the right balance of modern and traditional and we had a lovely meal at the restaurant. Breakfast selection was excellent and all staff were very friendly and helpful.

The food is very poor. The meals are clearly brought in and reheated. If the meals were made fresh it would make all the difference!

Lovely pub & rooms spacious, modern & very clean. All staff excellent.

Food was very disappointing. Not enough variety. Breakfast was not great and poor quality especially the sauce sausage under cooked. Steak and venison pie was delicious but poor quality veg and mash.

The shower wasn't the best. Not much power in it. And not having the choice of anything other than cooked breakfast. No cereal etc, didn't really please me, to be honest. Not everyone wants cooked breakfasts.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful environment, welcoming the guests in a typical Scottish location

It was a little bit fresh at the start of the day in the restaurant. The heating wasn't on, but we understood that due the energycosts they made this decision. At evening it was warmer.

The combination of a pub and restaurant within the hotel. We did like the atmosphere of a real Scottish surrounding. It was comfortable and accessible. The dinner was great as well the choices you could make for breakfast.

Drinks were expensive even allowing for a tourist destination. £12.20 for a pint of the local real ale and a pint of the local lager.

Comfortable room and plentiful breakfast to suit all appetites. Evening meals priced about right.

Separated our group to different parts of the inn even though we booked well in advance due to “rooms available at the time”. Inn itself was great but the service and food were not. The service was slow and not very well organised and the reason we were very disappointed was the food. The food for dinner was not great - tasted and looked like overpriced, badly reheated ready meals. The “crumble” was microwaved and inedible with packet custard on the side. The breakfast was OK.

It was a beautiful location with a great property full of charm - rooms were lovely and staff were friendly.
