We have stayed at the waterloo several times with our dog skye and find it to be a superb hotel. Very accommodating to myself and my husband and to skye too. A real gem.

There was only one changing area in ladies changing room which was abit uncomfortable, and also one shower. I got changed in there for privacy but obviously very wet and limited space. The first day, the pool was cold and jaccuzi wasnt warm either, however this was fixed the following day. The breakfast wasnt enjoyable. The veggi breakfast had much less than the full Welsh option. The veggi sausage was horrible too. Breakfast wasnt pleasant,it was flavouress and not value for money. Wouldnt get that again.

We stayed in a lodge. Supprisingly spaceous inside from looking at the outside. Had everything you needed. Great selection of Welsh teas, coffee and hot chocolate which was nice.

Leisure centre was a bit of a bun fight. Upon arrival 6 of us ended up sharing a locker for our secure items, as there was only one token left. A small jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Which would have been better if you could have booked a slot to use. One group of guests got in Jacuzzi and remained there for the whole hour we were there. Usually people are familiar with rotating to different activities. Perhaps people could have booked the jacuzzi for the hour and other guests told to arrive later, after that particular large group had left. A lot of signs were up, and not being adhered to i.e. 5 people in steam room meant for 3. Is this hygienic? Too many people for capacity at that particular time. If we had known , we would have changed our timings. A Booking system and further guidance on how to behave in a shared settings may have improved expectations. Car parking upon arrival was a little confusing until receptionist pointed out that there were no restrictions in all car parks once registered as a guest, and the front one was potentially temporary until the room was allocated.

Being upgraded to better rooms. The evening meal was exceptional. The breakfast was very tasty. Great location, comfortable & relaxed bar setting. Booking a breakfast slot to allow easy access to a relaxed and peaceful breakfast.

EV charge points.. 2 out of 3 working.. 2 cars were charging from 3pm Saturday afternoon until 7am Sunday morning. Could do with the hotel giving time slots to EV drivers. As I chose this hotel due to the convenience of the chargers but not being able to use them was a nightmare. I’ve stayed at hotels in the past we’re reception gives the EV driver a time to unplug. So maybe an option going forward.

Bed was on the small side. Felt like we were literally on top of each other with no room to move.

It was a bit dated we felt. Possibly in need of a little tlc in places. Mainly our bedroom & bathroom. The bathroom light seemed to be on a sensor but wanted to stay on when we weren’t it there, but go off when we were! Toilet roll holder hanging off. But these were minor things and it was a lovely stay, very comfortable indeed!

We loved the location, the spa facilities were excellent, the staff very helpful & friendly and it was very comfortable.

Didn't realise that a room only booking meant you had to pay for the swimming pool. This was an additional cost ( especially as we then booked breakfast for the next day!)

Room looked out on to the kitchen chimney not good and not disclosed in information about the room.

Breakfast was good evening meal was good quality produce, staff was friendly , only thing I would say was no no alcoholic options coincided with meal.
