Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It was all fine, just as expected for a fairly old building

Nice property but little details - dead ladybirds in window fill, bed seemed broken and sticking out underneath but overall otherwise clean - lack of plug points - much needed for overnight work stays - nice breakfast, staff friendly and fairly good value for money 👍

Room was a bit stuffy for four. Bedside cabinets and lamps were dusty.
Character, beautiful gardens. Staff were very nice. Lovely bathroom, comfy beds.

Room needed a little attention to detail…curtains slightly coming off rail, decor a bit worn. Nothing seriously wrong, but if updated it would be excellent. Food options not great for veggies or vegans. Not very adventurous. Large plates but a lot of bread to fill it up. Salad lacking in variety. Lasagne a bit stodgy, and not much veg in it. A bit pricey for what it was. Fish and chips were tasty.
Good sized room, very clean, comfy bed, little extras like water, biscuits , refreshments. Room pleasant temperature, not too hot, not cold. Very quiet at night. Good black out curtains. Plenty of towels. Bar area very nice. Service very good.

Very loud heating/hot water pipe noise’s every time you used a tap. Was too tired to go and change rooms having arrived at 22:00 and leaving before 08:00.
Excellent shower. Lovely and hot.

Breakfast was disappointing. Especially the mushrooms which were very leathery and completely inedible. I'm not quite sure how the cook, it couldn't have been a chef, managed that. S/he could patent it for making vegan leather goods.
A beautiful traditional property that was well appointed but not spoiled with inappropriately modern furnishings. A beautiful building.

The bathroom was amazing and very spacious, the bedroom was quite cosy and small. But it was for purpose and clean and the bed was really comfortable.
I was there for the Gatsby Night meal and disco, and it was a fantastic night!! The food was great, especially the starters and desserts. It was a lovely atmosphere, the band and dancers were all class. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. I shared my room with a friend. It was a comfortable stay.

Not as close to M6 as you'd think Small breakfast room but can use bar Old building so floor boards creak Also some thin walls but didn't stop me sleeping Bedroom was cool and I wasn't able to turn up the heat No air con (as advertised) WiFi is 30 mb up and down Weak flush on toilet

Nothing - wish we had a longer stay.
The staff were superb, very warm and friendly. We had a lovely room the building was clan and tidy. We had a lovely meal in the bar area. Several of us stayed over as we had a golf match the following day. We spent most of the afternoon and the evening in the bar area, two sets of bar staff covered this area during this time and they were exceptional. They lite the fire in the evening so we were very cosy. The breakfast was lovely and service great. All round an excellent stay for everyone.

The room was dated and tired, the bathroom was ok but didn't have a slip mate to stand on as you had to stand in the bath, my husband slipped and hurt his back and head, the breakfast was poor for the price.
