One of our rooms was not set up as a twin although booking.com had said hotel was informed. Hotel said they were not informed!!!!!!!!!9

The rooms although comfortable were very dated, on the first night the club next doors music was bouncing. It only lasted till 11.30pm but not ideal for a family trip

Had a lovely two nights break. Breakfast is well cooked comfortable room. Friendly atmosphere Had a pub meal on one evening enjoyed it was good value for money. Parking is a bonus too !

Unfortunately our room, number five, was situated next to the room housing the properties heating boiler, which had a fault that was causing it to produce a loud whine/squealing noice when running, which was almost constantly. This noice could be heard as soon as you reached the security door at the top of the stairs.

Only thing was the noisy motor as mentioned. Maybe an air con unit which was clicking in all night.

Central location with a car park. The main reason we chose the White Lion. The room was spacious and clean as was the modern bathroom. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. Nice atmosphere in the bar & restaurant areas. Great selection of beers, wines and spirits and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good & so was some sharing plates we had at lunchtime. Nice late checkout. Would have given 10 out of 10 had it not been for a noisy motor running all night next to our room, possibly an air con unit? but wouldn't stop us booking again although would request a different room. Overall it is a lovely pub, great staff & very clean and comfortable room.Good value for money.

The windows were single glazed and got very steamed up causing a lot of condensation ,it didn't really bother us but didn't look very nice ,they were very black at the sills .also the bathroom was freezing cold ,

Fantastic location, very central for restaurants bar's and shops etc,we could have eaten in the pub but chose to try different restaurants near by ,the staff were excellent so helpful and friendly, especially jess and the breakfast staff,nothing was too much trouble for them, our room was comfy and warm and roomy .

No hot water in the morning in the bathroom. Rather noisy boiler by the bedroom door. Full skip just outside bedroom window.R

Only downside was the knocking noise from the pipes. Not sure whether it was our room or elsewhere.

Some noise until around 11pm but this is to be expected and it didn’t affect our kids. Radiator in our room didn’t work so it was a little cold but not a massive issue.

Perfect location for beautiful Ambleside! This is a really nice pub as well and was very nice to sit and have a drink at the end of the day. The room was spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable! The shower was excellent! Loved the massive TV as well for relaxing after kids went to bed. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had and overall this stay was excellent value for money!

Location good for us, We had dinner & breakfast, both very nice. Parking available right next to the pub ..You expect there may be some noise when staying in pubs, but we heard nothing & slept well all night
