Having to walk to another building to get to the restaurant especially in the rain was a bit of a pain but apart from that nothing really.

The room was comfortable, perhaps a little too warm even after turning down the thermostat. The meals were really good, we had a meal in the evening which was lovely and the full English breakfast was plentiful.

The hotel does not provide evening meals on a Sunday. It would be helpful if they made available a list of local places that are open as we struggled to find anywhere open! Our only very minor complaint!

This quirky hotel is in a quiet, secluded, location, ideal for touring East/North Yorkshire. The themed rooms are gorgeous, spotlessly clean and replenished daily. The owners made us feel very welcome and provided us with very hearty breakfasts and an evening meal. The portions are very generous! We enjoyed the grounds and the quirky treasure hunt! Will no doubt return in the future!

The hotel was the most unique place to stay, quite an Alice Through the Looking Glass experience, needs to be experienced to understand just how different it is. The owners were very kind and give a top notch service to their guests. Please go and stay in this lovely house, and appreciate the thought, beauty and hard work that has been put into it.

A themed room, gorgeous. Excellent dinner and Breakfast in room a bonus . Lovely, natural grounds and lots of artwork (inc from the owners) really enhanced the surroundings. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nothing. Can't blame the hotel for the rain - and they did provide umbrellas for the walk across the courtyard to the restaurant.

Comfortable, quiet rooms in Edwardian style that felt more like a home than hotel. Large well equipped bathroom. Good coffee bags in room, nice toiletries and hairdryer. Peaceful setting with countryside view. Interesting meadow walk - strong shoes needed. Nothing too much trouble for owners - special requests for food for disabled son, and fruity teabags for me to take to room. Tasty, plentiful meals in conservatory restaurant and option for meals in rooms if required. The photograph is the view from our bedrooms.

Nothing at all. Fabulous experience.

The rooms were all unique and fantastically decorated. The setting was lovely with walks from the door. The hosts couldn't have been lovelier, helped with any questions we had, provided chocolates in the room, brought drinks to the room, cooked a fantastic meal and breakfast. The beds were super comfy and the shower forceful and hot. Everything we could have wanted after walking part of the Minster Way.
