Genuinely the best place we've stayed at without considering the price. We've stayed at places twice the price and this place is better. We have friends in Exeter and we will be staying here every time we visit. Massive pool with plenty of lanes. Plenty of space, there's a bar/lounge and a golf club restaurant next door which was amazing.

my room faced the atrium so I had to look out of the window into the dining and public area. I couldn’t really open the window blinds.

the property was set in the countryside with plenty of trees and flowers. it was peaceful. the swimming pool and spa were clean and well equipped.

Room stuffy, no outside ventilation (looked out onto indoor space). I was aware of this at booking but didn’t appreciate the implications of not having an outside window/fresh air. I would request an outside facing window if I was to return. An unusual arrangement.

The only downside to our stay was our room could do with updating as the carpet was badly marked and the bathroom had seen better days. We also booked this hotel as it showed two proper chairs in the room, but there was only one when we arrived and asked for another one as both my husband and myself suffer from bad backs.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location with stunning scenery. We had a meal overlooking the golf course, which was lovely. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Whatever came out of the kitchen & menu choice. Breakfast was fine, a good selection if you did not want continental. The waits between ordering and serving were ridiculously long. Paying for Dinner, bed & breakfast was a con. A different shorter menu which made a 4 night stay boring especially when food inedible. Who puts rocket ON TOP of a hot fishcake? The swimming pool was disappointing due to the huge area the steps took up. I am sure the semi circle could be redesigned to allow more swim area and therefore less likely to cause damage to the swimmer.

The staff I met were are very helpful & considerate. The premises were clean & tidy. My room was exactly what I hoped for, quiet, warm and clean. If I stayed again I would request same room The wet changing room was kept clean & tidy. The costume spinner a bonus, well done.

Changing room at the pool/spa area could have been cleaner. Price was slightly high, but understandable. We self-catered, so can't comment on the quality of food available -- the property is off on it's own, so you're either making your own food or eating there.

Stayed in one of the lodges, which was exactly what we expected - a quiet, spacious, standalone unit a short walk from the main hotel building. Clean, good furnishings, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. Staff were friendly and welcoming, gave all the information we wanted for the spa area. Pool and saunas were as expected, a perfect break.

The phone didn't work on the room on arrival. And it wasn't fixed when we left. As both our party are disabled, it did mean we had couldn't ask questions or order room service. There was a chip on the floor for two days in the restaurant but definitely got the impression they were understaffed. No disabled parking by entrance but that's the design of the hotel.

Staff were fantastic. Didn't get to the pool but have already booked for next bank holiday visits to friends in Exeter. Food was superb although breakfast was a buffet at the weekend. Service felt slow but I think we are too used to London speed! Rooms were serviced very well, had everything we needed Inc a fan for the hot nights. Shower was amazing! Wanted to take it home! Lovely receptionist sorted us an extra chair for our room. And lovely manager helped us out to the car at check out. Just excellent.

Over subscribed facilities, too many people using the saunas, spa, and pool at most times, too many kids in the pool, food was no where near as nice as last time I visited, when I visited before it was great but now feels geared towards daily users rather than people on holiday, if it was cheaper I wouldn't of highlighted it so much but for the money I expect a little more to be honest, especially as I've stayed before and that experience was a lot better.

The TV system didn’t seem to be working - was told could only get streaming by using own accounts! - but system complex and not working. Room to hot and stuffy for me - did not seem able to control temp. / ac.

Breakfast middling. Scrambled egg and tomatoes could be better cooked. The room was comfortable and clean. Pool and spa good. All Staff generally helpful and polite.
