How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast Hours was quite late each morning , so not ideal if you needed to get to work early doors. Owner kindly let us have our breakfast half hour earlier.
Lovely Hotel to stay in , made welcome . Room was nice , comfy . Breakfast was good About 15 min walk to the seafront Great having a car park.

Nothing we disliked although a couple of additions which would be appreciated: - a mini fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea & coffee - fruit at breakfast other than dried - baked beans and black pudding would have made the cooked breakfast exceptional
Amazing room, lovely comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Snack menu available during the day. Friendly and helpful staff/management

We could not figure out the hot water. The old style showers are a puzzle. Also, the reception is unmanned most of the day. But when they're there, they are helpful.
It's just a lane away from the beach and it's very charming. A 5 minute bus ride or 10-15 minute walk will take you to the market. It's quiet and right opposite the church.

Breakfast very good but quite expensive.
Hosts very helpful and welcoming, room very comfortable and clean, great garden area to relax in and excellent location near the seafront and amenities of Bournemouth.

Good location for the annual airshow. Staff are helpful and professional. Clean hotel, good facilities, comfy bed, nice gardens, parking available, boiled eggs perfectly done, reasonably priced

good location 8 min walk to train station and 5min to beach . 10/15 min walk to town centre walk along beach promenade . which is a nice flat stroll to town centre . or quicker walk to town via road side . if you have a car be there in 3 mins . we didn’t need to take our car from hotel we just walked to beach and town. breakfast was excellent nice touch of a free drink at the bar on arrival. which we enjoyed in the large garden.

The bathroom had a few dirty bits and not all of the TV channels worked.
The bath was a good size with plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. All of the staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

single room bathroom , the mirror too high. cant see if you are only 5 feet tall.

I don’t have any dislikes at all.
A very clean, relaxing and comfortable hotel. The staff were always friendly and helpful, answering any questions or queries. The spacious gardens were a beautiful addition, and ideal to have a refreshing drink in the afternoon or evening. I would definitely stay here again and hope to do so very soon.

Great hotel in a good location 20 minute walk to the centre of Bournemouth. Good size room. Nice garden. Fantastic breakfast (no lunch needed). Catered for our dog as well. Lucky with the weather so we sat in the garden with a drink from the bar on arrival prior to walking to the pier and square. No problem with parking either. Altogether very happy with the stay. Recommended.
