It seemed they often didn't have things requested in the bar or restaurant, and if you stayed more than a few days the evening menu was limited. However, this is a hotel with huge potential and friendly staff. There was a horrible noise in the room for a few nights, a faulty boiler which was attended to once the staff realised we were unable to sleep.

The room was beautiful and spacious. Most staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is pretty and it's very helpful to have the parking. We would have loved to have stayed longer if we could have afforded to! Breakfast was really good.

The room was small, it needs renovation and the wine is ridiculously expensive.

Lovely property dating from 1135. Staff were friendly, our dog was welcomed and the food was good. We booked dinner, bed and breakfast and for the price it was very good.

There was zero communication from the property before my stay (over the period of almost two weeks). I sent three messages and called the property repeatedly but nobody would pick up the phone. There were tea stains on the bed table and the lighting in the room wasn’t great.

The location of the property is great - lots of walking paths leading straight from the place. The premises were atmospheric and picturesque. There was a beautiful garden and a big car park just next to the property. The room was spacious and the double bed was huge and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty.

Having particular regard to the number of wedding guests etc the hotel was considerably understaffed resulting in one pleasant lady having to cope on her own with setting up and refreshing breakfast tables, replenishing buffet, coffee etc. on our first nights stay. Also our bedroom was not serviced despite my informing the cleaning staff that we would be vacating that morning at 12.00 noon. This resulted in a pantomime when as a couple we were initially offered compensation of just one complimentary glass of wine to share until I made it clear to the manager that this was just unacceptable. We also received conflicting info about the level of credit if we strayed off the set price menu on to the a la carts - first night no credit, second night £20 per head!

This is a lovely olde world inn in a very pretty hamlet within easy walking distance to footpath alongside the Thames. We were given an upgrade to a large superior bedroom in the annexe as most of the rooms in the main building had been reserved by wedding guests. Apart from the breakfast on our first night the overall quality of food was also very good.

A historic inn in a quiet location next to the Thames river. The beds were comfortable and even the standard rooms are large enough, while the night was quiet, with only birds chirping at the sunrise. The staff was kind and the breakfast was quite good, with the famous English breakfast available, though some fresh vegetables and hot chocolate options were lacking to make it perfect. Parking at the property is available too.

Hadn’t realised that Dinner, bed and breakfast option would restrict food choice so much. Not possible to pay extra to have main menu. Husband had to have same vegetarian menu two nights running.

Lovely old property with hard working, friendly staff. Large,clean and comfortable room. Quiet location in attractive village with walks from the property including into Marlow. Excellent wide choice at breakfast. Well cooked and plentiful.

The 'luxury' double was a little smaller than we expected and didn't have any seating other than a dresser stool. The wine price was very expensive!

We booked the classic room which was very basic with no frills, bare worn floorboards and only one chair.

We booked at a very good rate to include breakfast and dinner and judge the property on this basis. Both the breakfast and the dinner were very good. The bed was comfortable and the bedding clean.
