I like everything, but perhaps I can suggest having a designated room for reading instead of the lounge? Since there seems a lot of people reading in the lounge? I received an important call late in the evening and didn't want to talk in my room and wake everyone up. However, I felt embarrassed that talking would disturb people who were reading in the lounge. Other guests did gave me annoyed stares which made me feel bad. Sadly there was nowhere else indoors where I could make this phone call when it's raining outside.

"I love how clean it was! Whoever the cleaner is, they're definitely doing a good job. The staff is really friendly and makes you feel like they are your friends; they make dealing with them comfortable. As someone who's highly sensitive, I didn't get any bad vibes or made my eyebrows raised from any of them."

Nothing, everything was good..

Great location, was comfortable and warm, plenty showers and toilets, nice lounge and bar to sit in, large kitchen and plenty of cooking facilities, they also serve meals some evenings and do a great breakfast. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning again.

All the staff were really friendly! The kitchen was clean and well stocked with everything you needed to cook your meals. Excellent food on offer if you didn’t want to cook yourself. Will definitely be coming again!

Lovely hostel with friendly staff and options for dinner upon arrival. Great value for money and good stop off if you're walking the Cumbria Way. Theres a lovely little lounge area downstairs where you can cosy up with a book as well as grab a drink. Breakfast was a tenner but worth it and they accommodated me with veggie sausages 😁

very friendly staff, nice showers, comfy communal space, food was a little expensive for what it was, some areas where cooold but all in all a nice stay at a good hostel.

Didn't like having no Kettle in room and long way to kitchen to make cup of tea,but was nice vibe in communal areas .Also no chairs in room. First time in Youth hostel though so probably the norm.

Lounge Food Location Staff and general vibe all great Liked opportunity to buy breakfast and evening meal which we did.Really nice atmosphere in lounge/dining area where we ate. Won't find cheaper meals in Coniston. Beds were comfortable

Nothing not to like. A well run hostel.

Great place to stay with ample parking. Staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. The place itself is very well located in Coniston (just outside, 5 minute walk into town). Surrounded by good pubs, restaurants, and shops. Breakfast has a good selection of items. Many rooms to relax in after a long days hiking, a bar, lounge area, dinner options available which did smell great, but we were out most nights.

Not that we didn’t like it but could have done with a bit of TLC and I clean of cobwebs and dust etc. beds were immaculately clean as were bar and breakfast area.

Great bar and breakfast room, love the art work too. Stayed here to reece part of the montane Lakeland challenge and it was perfect location. Breakfasts was greta value and bed were comfortable. We had a private room that slept 8 but only four of us. Lots of room and everything you needed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Great coffee too.

I found the bunk beds to be small and the ladders dangerous when I moved during the night.

Wonderful location for coniston and the surrounding area. The staff were brilliant. Also, the cycle storage was secure.

It's a bit of a walk to the village center and the lake. The ventilation in the female dorm wasn't great, there was some smell despite the open window. Few sockets in the room. The layout of the ground floor is a bit strange, it's like a maze and I kept getting lost there.

Located amid beautiful scenery, with mountains in the background. Lovely house with nice communal areas. Good showers, with hot water. You can start various walks (including Old Man of Coniston) right from the hostel. They have a board with some ideas on what to do in the area. There's a bus stop nearby. The drying room was useful. Staff was friendly. Definitely value for money.

Very nice location and very comfortable, I was very happy there it's just ashame I was only there for 2 nights. Some things are getting a little pricy now with all of YHA, however with hyperinflation and the economy in general it's the same everywhere now so it is beneficial to be a member of YHA.
