Inconsiderate other guests stomping around and noisily using the bathroom at all hours. Accommodation quite basic. Sofas in the communal lounge had seen better days.

It was really cold as the heating wasn’t working. Well done to the hostel for providing small portable radiators but they didn’t really make much difference. Luckily I had my thermals as I was working somewhere I knew would be cold.

I liked theTV availability as I could watch Strictly 😂. Kitchen was well equipped. Staff were great.

Arrived to dark car park lighting and signage to front door poor Bedroom very musty Large family groups and parties dominated the shared rooms eg loos, showers, kitchen, lounge, tv room etc Food menu was a bit limited but the staff were great Male customers did not clean shared bathroom or flush etc Didn’t impact me but surprised no dogs allowed which would influence my future use

Would have preferred ensuite but they were full. Shared facilities were clean however.

Staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Ignore any comments to the contrary. Very clean. Great location. A bit chilly as the weather was cold and no central heating but there was a plug-in heater and fan in our room. Beds are basic but very comfortable..I slept very well.

Couple of things affected our sleep: Green glow from ceiling light was a bit bright People talking outside The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that although we were told the kitchen would be busy because of a large group we were told we'd be able to order food if it was before 7pm, but when we tried to order at 6.15pm we were told they wouldn't take our order so we had to walk back to the pub we'd just left for food

Not a great night sleep- there was a green ceiling light in the room that couldn’t be turned off, it was a very warm building so we needed the windows open and heard people coming back to the property at 2am, 3am and 4am

Fabulous location - 25 min walk on the river to Ironbridge. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Good value layover.

I’m not travelling often. Needed something in a budget. I’m not a fan of 1meter by 1 meter shower cubic which make me claustrophobic and hard to help your child with showering. It was strange smell in the whole corridors/bedrooms area. Can’t tell what was it but definitely unpleasant.

Poor cooling, very small single window, which didn't let enough air through as it was very hot, was unable to keep the window open overnight as midges came in as there was no covering, resulting in a very hot and humid room.

Lovely atmosphere and a river nearby, allowing walking and good access. Wifi available to make up for lack of signal, but the wifi is very slow so expect to be answering emails, not watching videos.

Only reason I reduced the facilities score was that the heating on first night was unbelievably hot and sleep was difficult . This was a problem for many guests . staff explained their issues with the boiler system , offered fans and thankfully turned it off for rest of our stay. I hope the heating system can be upgraded as it seems such a hassle for staff to cope with , waste of money for the hostel and not great for environment . Wifi didn't work on my phone consistently but luckily it was OK for my niece so she was able to sort it.

I love the hostel and staff were so helpful and friendly .I will definitely come back . The location is just so peaceful and interesting. I really enjoy staying in amongst history and nature

Easy parking excellent value for money room was basic but clean and comfortable and warm. All staff were very helpful and friendly. It was great to have breakfast and evening meals available and there was even a small bar. For our purposes...a motorcycle tour ...it was spot on

Wifi only in shared areas and no signal anywhete else. Dont expect to stay in touch if you stay here. Not sure if thats a bad thing or not.

Always a great stay at coalport. Beautiful old china factory now a hostel woth lots of private rooms rather than dorms.
