눉One thing, but it happened entirely on my own fault: I left my soft sport shoes one whole day downstairs and they disappeared. I suspected the dogs that there are many around... fortunately, two days later after a thorough search of the local woods, I found both of them (undamaged). So, advice to the future guests, don't leave anything downstairs (unless closed in the fridge or something that is really heavy) - everything should be upstairs. But even there, be careful of the strong wind that may swipe away some light things and of possible rain coming through the openings or "walls" and wetting something that should not be wet. And small ants (that do not bite). All this is also not really negative, it is just a word of caution.
눇Tranquility, only sounds of nature - birds, frogs, insects, wind in the trees, rain on the roof etc. No noise of roads or towns or music. Fortunately no TV, no phones, no radios. Everything is open, so one lives in a natural surroundings, yes, it is humid and warm (and sometimes hot), but that is the main part of the fun - being in a place having different climate and weather as at home. The host pair is very friendly, full of knowledge about the local area and even prepared a home-made dinner for my departure evening. Really kind of them, besides the very tasty food. No need (and no way) to lock the house - another benefit that you can't loose the key (that is something I am always afraid of). Cute, small, brown-greenish frogs in the toilet (you should first wave with a hand around so they leave the toilet, otherwise they are flushed in the sewage and maybe do not survive). Small red hermit crabs crawling beneath the shower, it seems they like to be showered as well. Just one mosquito, but even if there would be more, the mosquito net well protects the bed. A gecko in the kitchen snapping small flies. Huge brown frogs one early morning (still dark) on the footpath after heavy rain. Birds fluttering around. For some people all these does not seem as a positive thing, but for those of us who like to leave together with (and not against) the nature, it is a splendid recluse from the trappings of modern civilization.
