Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicCoffee at breakfast was not good. In such a luxury hotel I would expect at least one vending machine for good coffee - you can choose espresso, cappuccino, cale late...and so on. Hotels in East Crete provide free airport transfers for their guests. Unfortunately, not here. We took a bus from the airport to Chania and then a second bus to the hotel (stop Rapaniana 1 Town Centre). The journey cost a total of 10 euros for 2 people. On the way back to the airport we had to choose a taxi (we were leaving very early in the morning) and the journey cost 75 EUR.
Wonderful resort with nice beach (blue flag). Quiet place, comfortable and luxurious. We had a beautiful view from the balcony. The breakfast was great. We enjoyed pool bar with fantastic and friendly staff :-). It has been a wonderful holiday for us. There were plenty of sunbeds on the beach and the water in the sea was crystal clear. We are hoping to come back here again.

GermanyThe beach is made by pebbles so I would recommend to wear sea socks or shoes to enter in the sea.
I had a fantastic holiday at the hotel despite the anticyclone that is unusual. The staff was excellent and the General Manager Mr. Kantaras Argirios was very helpful, he tried to meet any requests. In the formula "all inclusive" everything: drinks and water were included. The food was delicious and varied from the Greek specialities to international recipes. I was really satisfied.

IsraelThere was something to improve on the level of food in the restaurant. As soon as we contacted the team, they immediately took care of the issue and improved it.
The hotel is of a high standard for those looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Service level and the staff at a high level with service awareness. In a clean and tidy place. Several types of swimming pools and a nearby quiet and clean beach. highly recommend.

NorwayThe housekeeping was a bit hasty with entering when knocking, so just be good with sign on the door if its not a good time for them to enter.
Great breakfast. Many choices and something for everyone. No matter what time we came to eat there was always almost full plates and much to choose from.

GermanyThe breakfast was very adequate (a large selection of hot and cold options as well as freshly squeezed orange juice, good cappuccino and omelet made to your liking) and the breakfast staff was super friendly. We still felt some parts of it (the greek yoghurt, the jams and the bacon) did not quite match the super high quality of the rest of our stay. These are tiny details though, and more than anything they're an indication of how fantastic the rest of our time at the hotel was!
Gorgeous location and FANTASTIC staff! Everyone on the team made us feel SO welcome! We had a beautiful view from the balcony of our large and comfortable room. Very large, centrally situated pool (depth 1.1 m), lots of sun beds and parasols on the adjacent lawn as well as on the private (pebble) beach. Ocean was crystal clear and had a lovely temperature (~25C) in early October. Very calm and secluded location, like having a long stretch of coastline all to yourself! We never tried the dinner buffet but ate at the hotel a-la-carte restaurant on our first evening. Had no expectations on an Italian (!) hotel restaurant in Greece (normally we always go looking for the best restaurants in the local surroundings), but to our great surprise, we had a fantastic meal, and the waitress and chefs were so friendly! Still a great memory for us! Oh, and there are tennis courts, a paddle tennis court and a well-equipped outdoor gym to boot! A great base for visiting the beaches of Elafonisi and Balos (not to miss!) with car. The hotel even organised a 4WD rental vehicle for us for one day on short notice, as the last strip of road to Balos is a tough gravel path. We really had a fantastic stay, and we're very much hoping to be able to return one day!

Poland-Transport from airport, you have to pay for your own taxi at €65, would have thought that a self declared 5 star resort would provide transport for residents at no cost -Food was reasonable but there was an annoying habit of beginning to remove it quite early -Facilities for children, there is a 'club' but it is geared for infants and there were no organised activities or facilities for our 7 year old. When we were booking, we specifically asked about facilities and events for a 7 year old and we were told there were things happening every day. This was clearly not the case. This is a particular sore point. -Poor night time entertainment. There were performances three nights a week but they finished at 10pm and weren't super entertaining. Nothing the other evenings. We stayed in another, supposedly lower grade, resort in Crete in 2017 where there was something happening every evening until at least 11pm. The resort was isolated which gave us no other options. We were clearly not the only people who weren't satisfied with this. -There could also be some more activities and events for adults. To be fair, there was a Swedish lady who ran yoga and pool aerobics every day and there were some 'fish' nights but they could easily expand the activities. In summary, we had a very pleasant and relaxing 2 weeks but we felt that Cavo Spada could be more proactive in laying on some activities for both children and adults at little cost (or which they could easily recover through small fees). It feels that they have a good resort but could put in a little additional effort to make it really great. It cannot really claim 5 star status otherwise.
+Fantastic room facing into a super, large pool and close to the beach +Room cleaned every day +Friendly staff

MaltaThe gym required advance booking and only one hotel room at a time could use it, making it impractical and generally unavailable - staff did not provide access even though it was empty, saying it was booked.
Good location of hotel and very quiet. Lovely pool area with direct pool access from room. Very good buffet breakfast.

HungaryCan't tell anything like that.
Everything was perfect. We stayed in a poolside suite that has a terrace facing the pool in a few steps distance with all inclusive. Room was always clean, bed was super comfy. Private beach is also in 50 meters. Towels changed twice a day. Worth noting, there is absolutely nothing around the hotel that is worth visiting, but if you just want to lay by the pool or the beach, it is a perfect location. You can choose from various activities as well, if you want to wander around the island.

United States of AmericaThe photos on booking.com were false and deceptive. Our room was fine but it was a sea view overlooking a half built complex. There is no room - as far as I could see that has a view of the pool, sea and with cushioned chairs and sofa on the balcony.
Nice location, easy to get to beaches, 20 min to Chania. Great spa- kind staff, great breakdfast

IndiaThe only improvement I’d suggest is to I have a global à la carte menu with more standard vegetarian items on the menu such as a good vegetarian pizza, more soups, and potentially an Indian lentil soup (däl). The starters variety could also improve. Otherwise, the property is top.
The staff is polite and accommodating, the property is well built with all good facilities, the buffet restaurant is the hotel has a good selection and the quality is good, and finally the pool is phenomenal with its own bar and private beach access.

GermanyThis is not a five star hotel at all. It starts with the rooms. They are offered as sea view, but they are maximum partial sea view as you can easily check by the physical location of the hotel in google maps. In case you want to sit on the balcony your view is blocked by a concrete balustrade versus other hotels having glass. The TV‘s are from another century as big as an iPad. Beds are so uncomfortable that we woke up everyday with back pain. Next, bathroom: The shower doesn’t provide constant warm water. You need to dance under the mini sprinkler head between boiling hot or ice cold - it’s really not nice. But the worst thing is the service. As we arrived it took the lady around half an hour to check us in cause of some mistakes in the system. Of course mistakes can happen but my wife is pregnant and they where not able to offer her a seat and a glass of water. Crete is beautiful, full with warm-hearted people, fantastic hosts, delicious food unfortunately this hotel is not worth it.
