Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe neighbourhood is pretty run down (well, like most of the city). You can see homeless people and lots of junkies around. The walls lack soundproofing.
It's located very close to the metro station; you can even walk to the Acropolis from there (it took me about 25 minutes). The street is pretty quiet, and there was a street food market on one day.

TaiwanThe flush of toilet is a bit loudly and the shower area is bit narrow and easy to spray out of the area.

GreeceThe walls are too thin to block out the sounds of inconsiderate guests coming in at 3 or 4 am to bang room doors, flush toilets etc. but this is hardly the hotel's fault. The shower was really tiny and the waist-high tap could be uncomfortable for anyone carrying a lot of weight!
The hotel is on a quiet side-street that is a few minutes from a metro stop and a couple of restaurants. The reception staff were always polite and friendly and allowed me to check in early as the room was already clean. My room on the 4th floor was above any street noise, had a good-sized balcony, effective lighting, a writing desk and a small but useful fridge.

Very clean, friendly staff, very close to the metro. Older hotel and basic but for a place to put your things and have a good nights rest it is perfect.

RussiaYou can make your shower curtain longer or increase the size of the mounting rings. Water was leaking onto the floor, I had to keep an eye on it)
Excellent hotel in terms of location, room equipment, staff attitude and price. I don’t know who found inadequate personalities around, we saw them only on Nikiforov Street, but this is far from the Cosmos Hotel and tourist routes, and these are sick, weak people who do not pay attention to anything around them. The hotel is located next to many other hotels, cafes, supermarkets, and then there is residential development. Quiet streets, in contrast to purely tourist areas, the opportunity to sleep on excellent beds and in silence. The refrigerator in the room is very convenient. Daily cleaning, change of towels and bed linen. Yes, the plumbing is loud, but you quickly get used to it. We are very glad that we did not take the critical reviews seriously, they do not correspond to reality!

Turkeynothing..
this is my 3rd stay at this hotel. I'm very pleased with it and recommend it highly to everyone! it is very nice that check-in time is early (1 pm). moreover, whenever I went early, say around 11:30-12:00am, the room was ready and they let me check-in. it is close to the metro station metaxourgiou, so it's easy to arrive from airport and train station, and it is also easy to go from there to anywhere in the city with metro. like in 1950s hotels, room and bathroom are spacious. bed is clean and smells nice, bathroom is clean. wifi is working very well. the staff at the reception are nice and helpful. unfortunately the neighborhood is not so nice; there is a lot of drug addicts around but they do not harm anybody...

CanadaThis Hotel was a great value. It exceeded my expectations. It is old but well taken care of and extremely clean. The staff was kind and attentive. Location is pretty central too, right next to the subway and not far from main attractions. I saw some reviews saying that the area is unsafe but I did not feel that way at all. The very few homeless people I saw mind their business and do not bother anyone. I would totally recommend this place for the price and for the lovely staff.

United KingdomThe area itself is one of the rougher parts of Athens, I'd recommend against inexperienced solo female travellers unless they've got a friend with them. However, in terms of getting to the hotel itself from the metro, the streets are safe, just try not to wander far unless you're inclined that way.
Hotel itself was very comfortable, quiet, spacious rooms, cheap, but above all the staff were lovely. Everything was very clean too.

MalaysiaHeating is not warm enough. The location is still within walking distance to some of the main attractions but travellers must know which road to take especially when you are not comfortable with homeless people.
The front desk reception is very warm and friendly. The room is quite spacious. Wifi is good. Strong connection in the room. They have luggage storage which was what we needed and it was free of charge. We left our luggage at the hotel and only took small bag when we went to Santorini.

BulgariaMoskitos. However, that is not on a hotel :) Just bring something with you (yes, even in November!)
After reading reviews I had my expectations really low. However, hotel actually was great! In every way. Stuff was super friendly, welcoming, always at desk available. Rooms are a bit old, but clean, comfy (beds and linens were great! we slept perfectly comfortably). Room has everything, including a small fridge, also of a very good quality. Bathroom was good, everything was functional. There always was hot water, good stream. Location is good: close to metro station, with couple of good cafes in the area. We saw couple of homeless people at night time, but no junkies, no scary stuff, that was described in other reviews. Really recommend, great quality for the price!
