Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWhen I arrived to the front desk for check-in I was greeted by a woman that sorely lacked customer service skills. She showed no patience in dealing with a foreigner in a foreign language (English). She also disliked questions. She made me feel very unwelcome (the following days her mood seem to have improved, she even greeted me once in my own language, which is not English). This is in sharp contrast to the other person that was sometimes at the desk, an elderly blonde lady with black glasses, who always had a smile and was very polite. Also, the lavatory was leaking, did not bother complaining given previous experience, but they fixed it a few days after I arrived. There was some cigarette smoke getting into the room, but it seem to be coming from the balconies of neighboring buildings.
Excellent location, close to a metro station and a supermarket. The neighborhood was fine, lots of graffiti on the walls but never had any issues with the locals. The staff was polite (with one notable exception). The room was clean. It was exactly what I needed for my holidays.

United States of AmericaThe bathrooms are small, particularly the showers, and neither the AC nor WIFI are exceptionally strong.
Great location, adequate amenities. For the location you cannot find a better price. Worth €50+/night given the location. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, highly recommend.

IrelandDidn't like the 1st room I was given, smelt smoke. But I was moved to a better room. The fridge in the room is a plus.
Great location, 3 minutes walk away from the metro & the train that comes from airport, really handy. The members of staff very helpful.

United States of AmericaWe felt the ‘rooftop” garden was misleading and had hoped for a pleasant evening relaxing; however, it was only open for breakfast which was meager at best. The Wi-Fi was sporadic in our room and I needed to sit in the hall in order to use it.
This location was wonderful if traveling by train. The staff was very helpful.

IsraelI Looked for place close to the train station for one night and the hotel is one minute from the station and Larisa metro station which is great. The neighborhood is maybe not in the top neighborhoods of athens but I felt safe and anyway you only go to the metro. Room was clean and comfortable, good value for money. Staff responded quickly to messages through booking and they let me to check in earlier which is appreciated

AustraliaTiniest bathroom ever. No kettle.
Room size good. Should have a kettle. Bathroom tiny. Had to sit on toilet sideways. Shower has to be held by hand. Shower curtain too short so bathroom floor soaked. Great that there was a lift.

United KingdomThey do not have a restaurant on site. I could smell cigarette in my bedroom. I was in Greece for treatment and could not have food unless I place an order. I requested for some menus but waited in vain.

United KingdomNeighbourhood a bit sketchy at night, although not unexpected. No air con in the room - they had central heating on set at 30 degrees in mid September! The room was very hot and no possibility to adjust. No tea/coffee making facilities or even a kettle. Fridge in room but not turned on.
Great location for the main train station. Staff were very helpful and good restaurant reco.

United States of AmericaShower stall seemed to be that you see on a cruise ship in our room. Hot water worked fine, but pretty much basic accommodation. It was quite warm that night and the evaporative air conditioner pretty much didn't help (it was 86F when we got there, and no matter what we tried to set it to, basically remained at 86F - the air from the window, which can only open slightly, was cooler than what we had in the room).
We needed a place to crash for a short time between flight and ferries last minute. Came across Diethnes Hotel from our quick search and because we were checking in so late there were not many choices available. The hotel is located on a side street and it was dark at night so we didn't really see much around it. It was a more traditional setup inside, older decor. Check in was easy and reception person was friendly.
