Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Our stay at Esperis was fantastic! We spent there 13 nights and everything was just perfect. The apartment is really spacious, there’s a wide kitchen with a table and sofa, a bathroom and a big bedroom. A private balcony with garden view completes the accommodation. The apartment was cleaned and tidied up every day. New sheets and towels every other day. The owner,ms, Ms Maria and her husband, are wonderful people, very kind and always ready to help. They always shared with us the delicious fruits from their garden. The position is great, surrounded by nature, very silent, near the centre of Livadi, 5 minutes car ride from the Chora and 8 minutes from the airport. I will definitely come back to Esperis when in Astypalea. I really recommend this accommodation!

Water pressure only just adequate, could do with being improved.
In a quiet part of town surrounded by agriculture. just a short walk from beach and tavernas and 2 well stocked mini-markets. Very spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen.

Pleasant apartment, close to all the best beaches on the island. It is equipped with all the necessary comforts and offers a wonderful view of the Chora. There are many roosters crowing during the early hours of the morning, for those who live all year round in big cities like us, once you get used to it, it can even become fun :)

The only negative comment is about bathroom: toilet didn’t always flush and shower curtain could improve.
Spacious apartment with shadowy terrace looking over citrus trees and Hora. Very good double bed.

Esperis really blew me away! Spacious apartment, stocked with all of the kitchen utensils, massive fridge, wonderful balcony with a view of the Kastro. SQUEAKY CLEAN ROOM. The Karageorgiou's were so accommodating and friendly, Can't imagine there being value for money in Livadi, or anywhere on Astpalaia.

The place is located right in a farm field. The cocks over there think the day commences little before five. If you don't mind some animal sounds then there's no problem.
Immensely forthcoming and proactive hosts; providing whatever you'd need before even asking. They were even so kind to arrange for a free transfer from the port. During my stay I felt really incorporated in the family: the husband showed me his extensive garden and loaded me with it's fruits, the wife gave me all sorts of sweet desserts. First time in Astypalea but hopefully not the last. Thought I had just booked a room and was therefore very surprised and pleased to discover that we were staying in an extremley clean and spacious apartment - separate bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Within 100 metres of beach and tavernas. Would not hesitate to return.

Lovely charming place in the middle of citrus groves and gardens next to a lovely beach. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Will definitely stay here next time as well.

Could not run a/c and stove at the same time without blowing a fuse.
Esperis was delightful, and Georgios and Maria are charming hosts. The accommodations are accurately described on the Website. Our comfortable unit had a private balcony over the fruit orchard, with a spectacular view of the Chora and sunrise. Daily cleaning and linen service were included. Livadi Beach is a 5-minute walk, allowing convenient access to a half-dozen excellent restaurants. If you plan to utilize that family-friendly beach with its small waves, umbrellas and lounge chairs; then motor vehicle rental is unnecessary. Tzanaki Beach is 30 minutes on foot along the main road out of town, followed by a steep path; it is doable without a motorbike or automobile as well. Esperis prefers wire transfers -- one-third on a specified date before arrival, and the balance at checkout. The day-of-departure balance may also be paid by cash or card.

Property was very well maintained and clean. A 5 minute walk from the beautiful livadi beach and the local restaurants and cafes. Very friendly family business. They brought us fresh fruit to the door without us even asking.
