The walls are pretty thin, and sometimes you can hear more than you’d like, but it’s not like they can rebuild the place to change that.

I stayed at Fantastic Matala for more than a week, and I must admit I found more than I could hope for: a combination of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. One of the standout features was how super clean the place was. I really appreciated the fact that they adapted to my routine and managed to refresh my room in the morning, allowing me to rest during the hottest hours of the day. The bed was incredibly (!) comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep, while great water pressure, strong WiFi and effective AC added to the convenience. The delicious morning cakes were a delightful treat, while Natasha and her family were extremely nice, always welcoming and responsive, making my experience there even more enjoyable. The location is ideal, with easy access to the beach, shops and tavernas. Everything was a couple of minutes away, soothing to be able to go back and forth whenever needed. All in all, Fantastic Matala is truly fantastic. Thank you & see you next time!

Wonderful family run hotel close to center of Matala, steps from the beach, restaurants and shopping. Very warm and welcoming. Greek hospitality at it's best. Modern facilities, well decorated. Will definitely stay here again. Convenient parking provided.

the location was wonderful. you reach the beach, market and shop in less than 5 minutes, the staff was very kind and caring. you wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

The shower is a bit small, but manageable.

The location is fantastic. The room is very nice. It has a balcony with a beautiful mountain view. The hosts are welcoming and generous. The bed is relatively comfortable. Everything was very clean.

Is a family run business so you feel you are in somebody’s house instead of a hotel. you get the feeling of been watch every move you make lol was like living with my mother.

The property is a family run business, the studio was super clean as they clean your studio every day. The room was very confortable in a nice environment with a small patio to yourself. The apartment is located one block from the Main Street full with restaurants and about two blocks from the beach.

I loved the location as it was two minutes from shops, restaurants and the beach. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. I looked forward to treats of fresh fruit and cakes everyday. The room was spacious and spotless; beds were very comfortable and the air con was a god send. The room also had a fridge to store goods. The shower had the right pressure. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We stayed for one night, very clean small room, comfortable bed, small balcony with no view but shadow and a.c. Helpful and kind staff. Perfect location. Nice terrace.

Matala was our second destination on Crete after Heraklion. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The place is touristy but not overcrowded in May. The most beautiful is the 'Red Beach' which, however, had to be reached on foot what is not easy but manageable.

Highly recommended. Close to the beach (just across the street), in the center but in a quite area (good for sleeping). Clean room, supportive hosts. Basic cleaning everyday. Boiler, cutlery, dishes, fridge. Fast air conditioning.

The best hotel I have stayed in, the staff were so welcoming, kind and always willing to help. Every day a little slice of cake was left out which I really appreciated and thought was so sweet. This hotel is in a perfect location and you can get to the beach in under 2 minutes. I couldn't recommend it enough. I will definitely be staying here again 😁
