How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

WE LOVED ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! Location was perfect, the apartment was gorgeous and spotlessly clean and the Hostess was incredibly hospitable. She went above and beyond to make our stay the beautiful time that it was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Will definitely be back in the future

It might need a parasol in the terrace for the mornings as the suns hits right on it and it is impossible to sit there for morning coffee.
Very clean and well located. Great town to spend a few nights.

Nothing, it was just what we wanted!
Views as promised, really small village with lots of good places to eat. Lovely swimming cove. Nice balcony with shade in the afternoon - small kitchen, big fridge, perfect for a summer holiday.

The bed is very firm and the pillows too hard. The top sheets need to be a size larger and a cotton blanket would be good too. Otherwise it was great.
Avlemonas is the best place to stay. Easy drive from the ferry and to most of the other towns or points of interest. The apartments are perfectly located and well maintained. Lots of tavernas to choose from for dinner and the beautiful inlet which is basically a private pool for the locals and lucky tourists staying there. Air con in bedroom is good to have and fly screens on windows. Private balconies. Quiet but convenient. Kitchen reasonably well set up, decent sized fridge. Great for longer stays.

No breakfast available here, but there was a tiny kitchen in the apartment and you can pick up supplies in supermarkets around the island.
Maryianni Apartments offer clean and comfortable accommodation in the prettiest town on Kythira, Avlemonas. Our apartment had a spacious terrace with views over a little inlet where you could swim and sunbathe. Located close to both the port and airport, this place makes a terrific base for exploring this beautiful island. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

The bed was a little uncomfortable for us as we like a soft bed but that is just personal preference. But the apartment was so wonderful that it really didnt matter - sun loungers would have been a great addition.
Amazing location and lovely hosts. They made us feel so welcome and couldn't have been nicer. We liked everything.

That the stay was too short as it was such a wonderful time.
Warm and welcoming, Manos and Eleni are incredibly hospitable hosts who are unfailingly generous with their time, knowledge about the island.

i loved everything about my stay
I loved the location, it was super central and RIGHT by the sea! The beds and cushions were incredibly comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring the gorgeous Avelemonas and surrounds.

No frying pan to bake eggs in even though there were an egg lifter in the kitchen. Only one mirror and that's in the bathroom which makes it uncomfortable when sharing the bathroom. An extra mirror in the room near a power point for ones hair dryer (I always bring my own), would have been great. The car had to be parked outside (we knew that though), but in the open sun and heat for the whole day. Any parking space under available trees were already taken during the time of our stay. Flat sheet too small.
We arrived very early and I had some medication which had to be kept cool and it was very hot in the car in the open sun. We were allowed to put it in the room's fridge. We were also allowed to check-in earlier than the normal check-in time. We appreciated that because it was a hot day. The location with the beautiful cove nearby to take a swim. a Small shop and taverns in walking distance from accommodation.

Kythera is the most fascinating of all the islands we visited. Our apartment was perfect, equipped with modern utensils, an excellent aircon (very needed this time of year) and the host was very helpful. There was a bit of a mixup with the booking but she sorted it out quickly. This is a perfect place for anyone, especially young or small children as it is a remote island with few tourists, but the small cove is perfect for families to have a leisurely evening picnic and early evening swim. We snorkelled and was lucky to see some unique fish. The location is a stonesthrow away from the beach, and a few nice restaurants with great food. For mojito lovers this is the place to be.

We have chosen this studio because of sea view. Unfortunately sitting on veranda there is NOT AT ALL sea view. There is a high wall around veranda and you can only see the bay standing next to wall. We were told that it is not allowed to have other kind of construction but the fact remains. No towelchange for 4 days

The location was wonderful, we loved the big terrace where we enjoyed a wine while our kids were sleeping. Good and friendly communication with the owners, we were able to stay till our ferry left on our day of departure which was great with our young kids.
