눇We got a fre upgrade because of a msitake on their part. This makes value for money of course even better than it would otherwise have been. Monemvasia is a beautiful place. The property is near the far end, but everything is within easy walking distance.

눇It was a lovely experience staying at Mrs. Theofano's Art Hotel. We were 3 nights there and absolutely enjoyed a wonderful room with an amazing view and beautiful greek traditional funrniture. The hotel is been renovated with great taste and is perfectly located. The whole team of the hotel is very friendly and Mrs. Theofano takes also personally care of her guest. I would recomend this hotel 100% and hope to go back soon. Thank you Mes. Theofano for everything!

눉Location is at the end of the castle and access is difficult. Arrived early but were not allowed to check in early (despite room being available). The owner offered small pieces of Pasteli on arrival but when we ate more than 2 or 3 pieces she took the container into her hands so that we could not access it.Terrible bed which was low and uncomfortable, too small for a couple. Meagre breakfast (a hunk of sliced bread, one boiled egg cut into 4 pieces for 2 people, 6 strips of bland cheese, orange juice watered down, one saucer of Greek yoghurt for 2, coffee and jams) which was brought to the table piecemeal - almost as if you could only get the next item if you finished what was in front of you. Owner hovers over you while eating making it uncomfortable. Owner spoke eloquently about the renovations but we always felt as if we were intruding into her home. Swimming from the Portello is a DANGEROUS option with the waves pounding against the castle walls and ladder where you get in. The upstairs terrace is extremely hot and without shade and at night there is no light so making it unusable. No parking available day & night, so the best option is to park in the town, pack a small bag and take the bus to the Kastro (which we were not advised of) - bus runs every 30 minutes. Not for people with young children or old people. Two nights too many.
