The bathroom could be a little more spacious. But it is ok. The bed was a little bit short for my long legs.

We loved our stay. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We would stay there again. Highly recommended. The island itself is stunning!

The bed was too hard for our taste, though it is often the case in Greece outside some new hotels.

The room provided all you need and want + hosts ready to go the extra mile to please you, including picking you up at the boat. It is located only a few minutes walk outside the village in an impressive exotic garden (otherwise the island is almost desertic). Really worth the walk!

Absolutely nothing.

Villa Maria Vekri is sensational. The location is great. The rooms are spotless. Cleaned daily. The hosts beautiful. Picked up from the port, warmly welcomed with coffee and freshly baked cake. Able to rent e-bikes for a very reasonable daily rate from here to discover the island. Driven back to port with baked goodies for our ferry trip. Highly reccomend!!

Honestly nothing negative. Easily the best property we have booked via this website. As other reviews mention, there is no A/C but the building is well-protected from the heat and has powerful ceiling fans, so we were very comfortable the entire time.

Spacious, comfortable, modern. Beautiful garden and balcony. Great shower. George and Yiota were always communicative and even arranged flowers and wine for us + picked us up from the port and dropped our luggage at the port when we left.

Nothing to dislike!

Villa Maria Vekri totally deserves all the wonderful reviews it gets from its grateful guests. It is a fabulous place to stay and exceeded all our expectations. The location is absolutely perfect - you are steps away from the buzzing little Chora yet in a tranquil oasis where you can relax and take time to just ‘be’ in the beautiful gardens. We were welcomed there with delicious coffee and cake on our arrival - we couldn’t quite believe our luck at such a find! We had booked just a room, but found ourselves with a full apartment with separate bedroom, lounge and dining area, kitchen and even a washing machine! We had everything we could possibly need from sewing kits, iron, terrace, portable sun umbrella and reading books to a Nespresso machine for our morning coffee. George and Gyoti are the perfect hosts. They picked us up and dropped us at the port even though it was an early start. Their communication was brilliant and the apartment was cleaned so thoroughly every day. Efharisto poli!

The owner George Is really professional and welcoming , really clean Place , , the garden in front of the room Is a beauty ,in the room you can find all you Need for your stay. Bonus point : i can drink coffee in the morning directly in the room , cause they a machine ( for the an italian Is an wonderful point , It was the only Place where i have been which i could do it). Really suggested.

None, everything was great.

Our stay at Villa Maria Vekri was fabulous. Although the rooms are not located at the beach, they‘re in the shade of a beautiful garden full of palm trees and they are only a stone’s throw from the centre of the island‘s little village (5mins walking distance). Having breakfast in the garden and being surprised every morning by the owners with something new of their homemade bankings has been a wonderful start to the day. The fact that the rooms are not directly located at the beach did not bother us as you can easily walk or cycle around the whole island and the village beach is only 10mins away on foot. Villa Maria Vekri is a lovely guesthouse run by a local family who puts a lot of effort and love into this little oasis. Highly recommend staying there!

The room is equipped with everything you could ever need on a vacation (hair dryer, coffee machine, etc. even mosquito repellent). The room was exceptionally clean and tidy. You can sit in the outside garden which is very quiet. The owner rented us electric bikes which were great to explore the island in a day. Owners picked us up from the port and drove us back for our ferry. They are very kind and accommodating which made our stay even more carefree and enjoyable.

50 meters by the center with an italian restaurant next to the house... It has a big public yard with some tables so you can chill if you want... The room was clean, we had clean towels even slippers for the night, some amazing sampoos and shower gel (the shower was soo good) our host was friendly and he already had some water bottles for us in the fridge (because the tap water is not drinkable) and last but not least the beds was so comfortable as hell..

Aqi was picked up and dropped back at the ferry. Yiota and George were lovely, caring and so welcoming. The accommodation was about 3 minutes walk from the centre yet quite. Great room. No air-conditioning but the fan made it cool enough. Nice terrace area.

Truth be told, this place exceeded my expectations, so I struggle to find a problem with it. I just loved it. Wifi was a bit weak at times, but generally speaking, it worked fine. I would not know what to highlight as negative in this case.

I had an outstanding experience staying at Villa María Vekri. Yiota (one of the managers) picked me up and took me to Koufunisia's port, and offered me a wonderful breakfast upon arrival and before I left, always including a home made snack. Yiota and Giorgio made me feel at home at all times, being this one of the main reasons I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Koufunisia. The hotel is composed by several small individual houses, with a private bathroom and a kitchen, surrounded by a wonderful garden teeming with colourful plants and wooden tables for you to sit, relax and have breakfast, read a book, or chillout at night. Furthermore, the location of the hotel is second to none... 4 minutes walk from Ammos Beach, and 5 or 6 minutes away from Koufunisia's Port. I loved staying at Villa Maria Makry, and fully recommend this place if you are planning to have an amazing time at this paradisaical Greek island.

Very nice villa, great location, walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants, beach. The owners are such lovely people, Giota and George, who speak English very well. George picked us up from the port and drove us back. We were welcomed with some cake and coffee. There is a beautiful garden with palm trees, very well looked after, room was spacious and clean, exceeded expectations as had everything we needed such as kettle, small cooker, fridge, toiletries, even sewing kit , etc. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided. We also rented their electrical bicycles and had fun exploring the island. Would highly recommend and planning to return sometimes in the future.

Villa Maria Vekri is a gem on Koufonisia! Mrs. Yiota and Mr. George are the perfect hosts, being very kind and caring and making you feel at home. We rented a wonderfully furnished and spacious apartment with a nice terrace facing the beautiful and well maintained garden. Everything was super clean and well looked after. And it's very authentic compared to many of the newly established apartmemts. As we were travelling with our son (2 years) Yiota went out of her way and even prepared a cute crib, baby towels and cutlery. Not to forget that she even organized special organic baby shampoo! When ferries didn't run due to bad weather, Yiota helped supported to organize an alternative travel schedule. We enjoyed our time on Koufonisia in Villa Maria Vekri to the fullest and can only recommend to look no further. Thank you Mrs. Yiota and Mr. George.

Everything was great!

Property is setback from main part of village, with a nice courtyard and still very close to restaurants and beaches. Hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Rooms are cleaned and beds made everyday. Hosts take great care to make sure things are neat and sanitary. Room size is definitely adequate. Bathroom is small, but good and the shower has plenty of hot water. A bottle of water is provided at the start of your stay and we were offered cake and homemade cheese pies the next two mornings which were delicious! Transportation to and from the port is provided.
