눇Quiet clean place. We had an apartment with 2 sleeping rooms (one with air condition) in the ground floor. Very friendly owner, Ivo, who - together with his wonderful children - took care of everything. Whenever we had a problem and asked one of them there was a solution. One of the best experiences: He took us with him on his boat to his fishing nets and fish traps where he took out all kinds of fish and lobsters. And he showed us other coves. Sand beach in Saplunara (just a walk away) is beautiful with pine trees. Take care to pick up enough food in the supermarket near Sobra, the little shop in Saplunara is quite expensive. We can recommend the place.

눉It was too early in the season to have internet connection, leaking toilet.
눇The rural area away from other tourists and close to the beaches + having a washing machine and clothes lines!

눉There are a number of restaurants in the village but we only tried one and it wiped us out financially. Ms has no MENU.....so if you are minded to be seduced by the fabulous service and offering.....be prepared to pay over £35 per head. With everything else in Croatia so cheap, the bill comes as a shock.
눇Saplunara has the best sandy beaches in Croatia - hence the Latin name - the Romans loved it!! And so did we.....the water is just beautiful and you can smell pine needles as you walk around the village. This tiny village already shows signs that it is heading upmarket. When I first saw the location of the apartments on the map, I could not believe how close it was to the beach for such a remarkably low price. In fact, the beach is where our wonderful host Igor kept his fishing boat and on our second day, he brought us fish that he had caught that day. He also shared with us the smoothest grappa that I have ever tasted! If you order the day before you can get fresh bread from the village shop. You can also have the most amazing meal at "MS" which is a very posh shack restaurant on the way to Blace Beach....huge charcoal brazier, the best wine we had all holiday, fantastic service, all produce local and fresh but eye-wateringly expensive. London prices. The apartment has views through the trees from the large balcony to the sea and is spotlessly clean with new fixtures and fittings. There are 4x apartments built above Igor's single storey house but access is from ground floor level as the building sits into a hillside.
