Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBeach bar and pool bar VERY EXPENSIVE, so beware and take vast sum of money! Hotel reception bar also overly expensive and not enough of indoor seating for number of guests so no idea what happens in peak season Beach was mostly noise and disruption of experiencing mini digger moving about shingle continuously and the images advertised were not what we were faced with, which was a shame but that was only a minor irritation as we got on buses and went island hopping and visited old town and harbour etc. The beach is more stones than pebbles and sea not easy for kids to get in, everyone really needs a pair of Water Beach Shoes to protect feet. This is however the same on all the beaches. However, overall, I absolutely loved my entire stay here and found it great value for money as Half Board is essentially Full Board due to the breakfast and brunch til 1pm then dinner at 7pm. If you are a drinking all inclusive type of traveller/family who don't stop eating and drinking, this will however cost you a lot of extra money! Fabulous place to relax, get away from it all and watch the boats go by and look at beautiful scenery. 8, possibly 9 out of 10 overall I will be back 😁
The views were stunning and you will get some stunning pictures, room was upgraded to pool and sea view which was hugely appreciated and stunning at night, overlooking the lit up Dubrovnik Bridge. The location was great for jumping on buses into town and easy to use and 2 bus stops 5 minutes away. Whole area was safe and inviting with some local shops and Maro World for kids was excellent. A LOT of money has been spent on this centre, 2 minutes from the hotel reception in a separate bespoke building. Bedrooms newly decorated, large and bright. Beds comfy although 2 pillows would per person would be a huge improvement. Bathroom all new, large walk in shower with excellent water pressure, housekeeping service excellent. Lot more steps down to pool and beach than photos would suggest so think twice if you have a problem with them in general but on bright side you'll get more than your daily 10k steps in here! Fabulous number of activities to choose from but nothing organised as Eay season, same with evening entertainment, non existent during our stay, the hotel appeared to have only been open a week or so. Reception staff good although many seemed new and not overly familiar with the local area so double check everything they say. The central park close by has all the other Valamar hotels around it and you can use the facilities in each, well worth a wander to see their individual bars and pools etc. Food good on general but annoying that the drinks machine is turned off for evening meal except water and this is an expensive add on you won't be expecting. I would also say it is a great choice for solo travellers and there is a calm safe feeling abput the whole area. I would travel there as a lone traveller without any hesitation.

United KingdomThe pool was too cold, there was no entertainment, things like pool table had no cues etc. but at the pool they had games available just not in the bar/reception area. Food was good but got a bit repetitive and boring in the evenings. The beach bar was very expensive and everything else was only just opening for the season. We walked to other hotels and used their bars and pools for free.
Was very clean, we got upgraded to full board which was perfect and saved us lots of money. good location and maro world is such a brilliant place. Nicely placed near the park and close to town, buses were great. Staff very helpful. Room was good and beds were comfy. Its nice a peaceful area and lovely views.

United KingdomA little bit too far out of Dubrovnik Old Town for me, but an Uber worked out the same as four of us getting a bus so was ok. Food selection was good but could be better.
Great family hotel. Young children and their families will love Maro World as so much for them to do

KosovoThe room was very cold, the pillows were not comfortable at all, in the hallway you can smell moldy air.
View was very good, the pool and the beach was perfect! The room was good, and for the price and everything was affordable. The shower was very good btw. Food was good but it can improve.

GermanyNothing actually, all was good in our stay
The staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was a great short vacation and the hotel exceeded our expectation. We had an amazing room with a panoramic sea view. The room had everything we needed. There was allot of activities that we were able to do within the hotel especially for a family with a kid. From visiting the pool to the close beach and playgrounds within Maro's world, my kid enjoyed all these activities. The breakfast and the dinner buffet was great with very good variety. Overall it was an amazing stay for us and we totally recommend this hotel if you ever visit Dubrovnik.

United KingdomCold pool. It was October and 29°c weather, but for the kids it is not ideal. Even just a heated baby pool would be handy. Small room for family of 3 more than 4 nights would have been tough The pillows are too soft. We had a few sore necks!
Food selection was great and included made life easier Maro world was brilliant for our 3 year old and our sanity! Complex is great, accessible and easy. We could have explored more. Views are exceptional Cleanliness is amazing The room was clean, modern and beds were comfy. Proximity to the beach and the set up around the pool is brilliant.

Maro world was fantastic for the little one, very convenient and near by The pool was OK, but got super crowded since very early The activities at night at Maro world were great too Close by to Dubrovnik by a 15m bus

GermanyNot very customer oriented managers of the front desk (I am asking for a specific room which was available and upon consultation with the manager the staff offers me worse alternatives..). Lack of the fridge in the room. No kettle, which upon request was available. Food variety was ok and seemed fresh, however it all tasted the same.
Excellent Maro world for kids. Comfortable and nice looking interiors of the rooms, featuring a stunning view overlooking the bay(as we decided on the upgrade to a seaview room). Park facing rooms are not renovated though.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe food served with the half board was okay. It had decent variety, but the quality was mediocre. The convenience just about made up for the quality.
Staff were helpful and friendly, the pool, and children's play area, Maro World, were amazing. The half board of breakfast and dinner was very convenient. The location was easy to get to an from the old city.

LithuaniaAt least kids pool could be heated, it was 22 degrees. I missed nice hair shampoo, conditioner or a mask. This is something that you usually find in a good hotel. Here it was only one general hair and body wash.
Pool area was never crowded, there is a nice pool for kids. Mary world kids zone is something extraordinary ❤️ if you are traveling with kids, this service already makes your vacation excellent 👌

United States of AmericaSmall things. The further you get from the lobby - the quieter it is. Something to consider when selecting a room. Rooms are a bit small, and feel a bit dated - but you are not spending much time in the room. If you are not in the EU and reserving through Booking.com or another website - be aware that your reservation is made in local currency and not Euros. Actual price paid at the hotel upon departure may be more or less depending on the exchange rate for that day. Our cost went up by about 10% which was a little bit of a surprise.
Facilities and Staff were wonderful. Meals are ample with a lot of variety but nothing fancy. As a tip - there are 2 dining and buffet areas. The one on the east side of the hotel is smaller and less crowded. Maro world is a short walk away and a fantastic place for kids. We used the bus extensively to go to Old Town. Bus tickets for sale in the gift shop in the hotel lobby. Family of 3: 2 adults, one child on a 'twin' bed, all in the same room.
