Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaAbsolutely stunning views. A beautiful hotel to stay for a few days and relax! It was so nice to have a private swimming area for the hotel only. It is about a 25 min walk to the town, lots of stairs and hills. We would stay here again!

IrelandMaintenance to the gym is needed. I tried to use a running treadmill and it will stop all the time. The maintenance came and told me to unplug it and plug it, which I had to keep doing through the space of more than 45 minutes and then the machine stopped completely. Maintenance guy didn't want to do any effort to asses what I was explaining to him.
All was great in the hotel. Special the staff and more than anything the reception girls were awesome. There is a lot of outdoors to do in the hotel which if you are not in the mind to go sightseeing you will enjoy.

BrazilThe hotel has some spaces that could have some remodeling, like the gym, the spa..
Our view from the room was definately a very important point, from the bed, looks like you are floating up the sea. The hotel has an amazing restaurant, we had a lunch and a dinner there, the food was delicious and the waiters are very kind. They also has a “beach bar” that we took some drinks on the beach, very comfortable. The location is very nice, because its not that close to the noisy center, but you can reach by car in 8 minutes or walk for 20 minutes.

FranceWe were mis sold our room, I paid extra for a larger room in the annex but we were put in a standard double. We mentioned it and they moved us to a slightly bigger room with a bigger balcony and bathroom BUT the shower constantly dripped badly (we did mention it but no one came to look) and there was a very scary looking patch of black mould on the ceiling from a leak above. The hotel looks tired and needs updating, but they were at the end of their season so maybe this is to be expected.
The beach and pool area are the real stars of this hotel along with the incredible view. We loved the fact that the beach was private we could always get beds and the ocean was directly in front of the hotel for swimming and sunbathing. Amazing!

United KingdomOk, there were a couple of issues. Our shower head had come away from the wall; a couple of sockets didn’t work (including the fridge) but honestly, it wasn’t anything we felt like complaining about. The room was quite superb, with a beautiful view: it was clean and very quiet.
The staff were terrific. The food was brilliant and our room was very comfortable and clean. The location is fabulous: you’re a 20min walk away from Hvar in a quiet, serene and lush haven with its own bit of coastline. We swam in the sea every day and at Hotel Podstine there are several quiet areas overlooking the sea where you can relax and have a drink. The whole place has a variety of shrubs and trees which add to the feeling of calm and tranquility.

AustraliaWe booked a sea view room and paid a premium for this - when we got to our room, all we saw was palm trees. Either do some maintenance in the gardens, or do not allocate these rooms as sea view. The hotel is tired overall - corridors especially. It could be an incredible hotel with a bit of investment as it’s sea front location is spectacular. More guest service required - perhaps picking up guests from port via small boat or hotel car. Do not book excursions through the hotel - the prices are astronomical. We were quoted €500 + fuel for boat hire - walked into town and paid €180 incl fuel for same vessel type. This is dishonest.
Hotel Podstine is situated in a beautiful, secluded bay with excellent (sea) swimming right off the front. Sun lounging area is nice - although could benefit from furniture upgrades and service to sun beds. This beautiful location is the main selling point of the hotel. It is a 20 minute walk into main Hvar town - this didn’t bother us but could be a problem for others. Breakfast was pretty nice - just get there early for fresher food.

United KingdomThe bathrooms in the rooms are dated .
The location and outside space at the hotel is perfect. There is loads of places to relax on their private terraces and right beside the water. It is a good 15-20min walk into Hvar but we enjoyed doing this walk as it’s mainly along the waterfront and a nice change of scene

IrelandI had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on Hvar Island during a peak season, so it was on the expensive side. However, it was worth every penny. The views from the room were absolutely fabulous, providing a breathtaking backdrop to our stay. The hotel was spotless, and cleanliness is always a top priority for me when traveling. The staff must be commended for their attention to detail in maintaining such a clean environment. Overall, despite the higher cost due to the time of year, I left with a very positive impression of this hotel. The stunning views and impeccable cleanliness made it a memorable and enjoyable stay. Thank you to the hotel staff for a wonderful experience."

United KingdomOnce past the reception area our bedroom was a bit dated and that goes for the outside too. I think this hotel needs updating and some money spending but that said we had a lovely stay and it is within walking distance of Hvar on the coat path ( 15-20 mins) beautiful walk we did many times straight into the harbour area. Cocktail prices silly which is a shame because we ordered none whereas if they were cheaper we would have ordered loads!
Nice location and clean room- girls on the front desk were lovely and friendly as were the cleaning staff

United KingdomWe had a room that was next to one that for one night became occupied by a group of youngsters who shouted and drank from 12 midnight to 2am, went out, and then came back and started again at 5am. Quite honestly they should have been asked to leave but since there were loads of them and only two of us I suspect it was not economic for the hotel to do so.
The hotel has all of the expected facilities, but is a little bit tired. It is like a very plush hotel from a 1960s James Bond film. I understand it is now under new management and with a little bit of money spent on it to tidy it up (e.g. fix the swimming pool outlets), create consistent branding across the hotel (e.g. replace the commercially randomly branded umbrellas), introduce a shuttle service to HVAR town it could be truly great and in very high demand.
