The entire team from the owners to the support staff were unfailingly friendly, helpful and good-humoured. The food was simple but really delicious. The diving trips were well organised and we were well looked after by the whole crew. All in all, a really lovely place.

Good food and we loved going snorkelling with the diveboat for just 5 euros per person. The corals are still healthy and there is many little fish around. We enjoyed our stay and felt very welcome!

The bed is a bit hard but that is so often in asia

The place was so peaceful, and the house reef a 10 minute swim away. Good coral and lots of fish. It was so nice that divers and snorkelling were with the same boat. Food is good. It is not spicy, but there is delicious sambal to add if you like. There is a fridge full of cold Bintang and soft drinks. Things are well organised, and Willeke is great and kind host. We had a wonderful time PS. We read that the beach could be polluted with rubbish. But is our travels we have seen that this can happen at any beach if the current is in that direction. Snorkeling on the dive boat was excellent. Felt I was being looked out for. Two different locations each morning. Great dive crew. Bed in the cabin was comfortable.

Willeke and her team was amazing and the food was really good and generous portions. The diving was also very good the dive master Jimmy was awesome. We were working remote and the wifi was good to have meetings and they had the generator to provide us with electricity when there was a power failure. Can't praise this place enough, would really like to go back!

I recently had an amazing 7-night stay at Happy Gecko's bungalow resort in Indonesia for diving. It was an absolute dream! The bungalows were cozy and well-maintained, providing the perfect retreat after a long day of diving. The staff at Happy Gecko were incredibly friendly, always going above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The diving experience was absolutely breathtaking! The instructors were knowledgeable and passionate, guiding us through some of the most stunning underwater landscapes I've ever seen. The resort's location was ideal, offering easy access to beautiful dive sites and incredible scenic views. I can't recommend Happy Gecko enough to fellow diving enthusiasts. If you're looking for a memorable and enjoyable resort experience in Indonesia, this is the place to be!

Really nothing negative to say about the resort or the experience.

The owners and all the staff were not only attentive and considerate but also extremely responsible, making sure everything ran smoothly and providing a really homely feeling which was perfect for me and the new friends I made at meals and on the dive boat. Speaking of diving, the sites at Bunaken are not to be missed, though currents were quite challenging on some of our dives. I was glad to be in the capable hands of resident dive master Jerry.

The place is very quiet, the food is very good, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the dive center is professional. Willeke and Jerry are very friendly and helpful and the staff is so kind. Definitely recommend this place.

Nothing. People may complain about the water etc. but this is an Island issue, not resort issue. Couldn't even complain about the steps up to the room because it made for an elite view. If you have something to complain about here you should probably reassess your life.

Everything!! The view is amazing. The food is amazing. The staff are amazing. The location is amazing. Value for money is unbeatable. Plus, theres only 6 chalets, which makes this place very quiet and homely. Rooms are great. Home reef is great for snorkelling and theres nothing the staff wont do to make your stay better. Diving is fair priced and great DMs. I have travelled a lot and was still super impressed here. Thankyou everyone!!

The food was good but in Bunaken I expected more fish/ seafood and there was mainly chicken served.

very cute, cosy, calm and little resort (6 bungalows). only cold water for shower, but do dont need hot water anyway :-) we had fullboard and the food was amazing! free water, coffee and tea all day long. we had some fantastic diving with the local divemaster Jimmy on their very comfortable boat. its also very good for snorkeling if you join the diving boat. very easy going and friendly manager (Willeke and Jerry) and employees. internet is available at the restaurant and not in the rooms. we can highly recomend the place :-)

Willeke is an amazing hostess. She is a natural at the accommodation business. So friendly sweet and helpful. The food made by the Rini ladies is outstanding. Jimmy and the other divers are excellent too

The fan in the room is open for improvement.

The coral reef and the incredible amount of fish are a dream for every diver or snorkeler. The boat of Gecko is modern, the guide very professional. I liked the welcoming atmosphere, the good food, the nice chalets, near the beach. You have a terrific view from your balcony. everything is well organised. Willeke (Dutch) and her husband Jerry do a great job.

For the price charged, nothing.

Fantastic value for money and the food was wonderful. Beautiful views from the room and really friendly people. We had a very relaxing time. Be warned there is no hot water in shower (was not an issue for us as there is no winter in Bunaken), no WiFi in room (WiFi in the common area/dining hall was fast and reliable) and no air con (ceiling fan available, but otherwise no solution there, pray for good weather). Bring insect repellent!

Wi-fi everywhere on the island is somewhat restricted. Don't rely on your home phones for internet, Indonesian sim cards are usually blocked from being used in foreign phones. Resort wi-fi is perfectly adequate for voice calls.

Quite simply an amazing place with friendly and professional hosts. The resort is situated only meters from the beach and has a particularly good and reasonably priced dive centre on-site. The resort has its own boat, however there are a multitude of dive sites within 10 minutes. Snorkeling is accessible from shore. The diving is simply breathtaking. Food is delicious, varied and plentiful. The bungalows are large and have their own verandas. Everything is kept clean and spotless. There is simply a chilled out vibe to this place that makes you want to stay longer.
