Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMosquito but that is definitely not the hotel fault as they regularly spray the outside area.
Fantastic place to stay. Clean comfortable in a fabulous location. The staff couldn't do enough for you. And the breakfast was superb. Highly recommend.

GermanyThe bathroom could use some small renovation and/or deep cleaning (limescale built-up here and there). Breakfast good but a bit monotonous - just a few options to chose from the day before.
Great location - practically in the centre of Ubud but in a relatively quiet street with many restaurants and a convenience store just opposite the hotel. Super helpful staff. Ample size cottage for a family of three/four. A nice swimming pool with water that was cold enough. Water dispenser in the room. Decent breakfast brought to your porch. I read somewhere in the reviews that the street where the hotel is situated does not have w pavement and is dangerous - well it’s well lit and the traffic is very slow, so we didn’t find it problematic. They worked with the gluten free restaurant next door - it is actually very good, they have fantastic coconut pancakes, it’d be great to have them for breakfast.

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing.
Staying at Sama’s is always like coming home. It is comfortable, welcoming and safe for a solo female traveller and within easy walking distance of some of the best places to eat in Ubud. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and a massage from (Dr 😉) Putu Gusti at the Jepun Spa on site will leave you feeling blissful. Special mention must go to the safest and most courteous driver I’ve ever had in Bali - Komang, who kindly picked me up from the airport and later in the week drove me to Sanur. Also, the delightful Koyo who was always up for a chat and willing to offer any assistance I required. Can’t wait to come back 😎

AustraliaNo going to sleep before the band across the road finished, which was 11pm, but we were told that before we arrived. The pool made it worth it though.
Location was good, had private pool... very refreshing... coldest pool in Bali, which is not a bad thing.

Nice setting with private cottages, lots of nice statues and tropical vegetation surrounding each cottage. Property does not have many rooms so it feels very private and quiet - not crowded

AustraliaThe only notable things that may be of concern to others in this particular spot is loud music nearby until 10.30pm or so (although we didn't mind this), and the wifi isn't great so you can't stream anything; we had to use data when our toddler wanted to watch a few things.
The staff here are great and the villa was really clean. For a fee, we were able to hire a cot for our toddler, which was a good quality larger portacot so we were very happy with that. We also really enjoyed our daily breakfast at the property's cafe so much, we had a lunch there too. The location is great with lots nearby, including a very conveniently placed mini mart across the road.

New ZealandStaircase to upper level was uneven, needed care to use. Steps into Swimming pool were very slippery and we fell several times. Decided against using the pool after trying twice and needing assistance to prevent slipping on the tiles.
Great atmosphere, excellent staff.

AustraliaThe private pool villa was down the street a bit from reception. The extra bed we requested for my 13 yr old daughter was hard as a rock. Not sleepable at all, we had to put the big cushion off the couch on top of the mattress. Alit of Noise from the pub across road but was always over by midnight. So not so bad.
The property was clean. I loved their seperate recycling and waste bins. I loved that the Cafe attached out the front of the villa could deliver to your room or around the pool. The staff were super friendly and accommodating.

AustraliaT.v. was hard to set up with the dvd player as cords everywhere and 3 different remotes although got it going with a bit of trial and error.
Location was fantastic. Villa was clean and spacious, and private pool was exceptional. Air conditioned rooms were terrific on the hot muggy days/nights.

United States of AmericaWe saw the sign on the busy street but then walked down a gardened path to the property. The property, being in town, has a lovely secluded feel. The pool was small but nice. The location was central enough to walk to some fine restaurants.

AustraliaAll of it was great-staff were unobtrusive but instantly available when needed. Maybe a couple of pool floaties and toys for kids
Breakfast was delicious and varied, our kids loved it too. Food in the attached cafe was great. Location excellent-close to Ubud Main Street and loads of restaurants and shops directly out the front. Felt very very private. Some night noise from a local bar but didn’t stop our kids falling asleep, we even went and joined in the fun one night. Perfect stay, planning to rebook for next year.

IndonesiaThere was nothing not to like. It was great value for money in a terrific location. If you do not like noise, do not stay in the 1 bed villa. The staff contacted us right away to let us know a band plays, so it was fine.

AustraliaThe room was great, pillows are thick which was good for my partner but not for me as a chest sleeper. The room has inbuilt ventilation which unfortunately means sound enters the room quite easily. One of the blinds by the head of the bed was broken so light entered the room around 5-6am so as a light sleeper I woke up very early and fell asleep late.
It was huge, the photos didn't do it justice on the size of villa we were getting. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the omelets were delicious, they offered me a chilli one off menu which was excellent. Great location about 8min walk off the top of the main shopping street and about 15min walk to monkey forest.
