Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWe were there during some construction, so it was hard to find a peaceful spot to work or relax. The outdoor bathrooms could be refined with some hooks for towels and shelves for clothes.
With an outlook over the ever-diminishing rice fields, it was a wonderful peaceful place amongst the bustle of Ubud. The free afternoon tea was an awesome touch, as were the scooter rides right into the heart of Ubud whenever we needed. The outdoor/indoor lobby area was a great place to work, play board games. The refills of water, rather than plastic bottles, was a huge plus for us.

SingaporeErr...we couldn't stay longer? Haha!😅
Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Safe and serene environment. We stayed in the lovely two storey villa. We absolutely love the private pool overlooking the rice fields. Complimentary scooter rides provided to go to the main road which was fun but we loved walking to the main road too, past the smaller cafes and makeshift shops along the way. Delicious and healthy breakfast provided. Complimentary tea time snacks included, too! Thank you so much!

SingaporeNothing! It was everything we could ask for the price we paid.
The villa was spacious and clean. There were many facilities available in our villa (a large living room, kitchen, pool, large toilet), rooftop balcony. I loved the scrumptious and hearty breakfast that the villa made for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, ever willing to answer our queries. They also provided motorbike shuttle from the villa to the main road which is 700m walk away at any time of the day up to 9pm. We also enlisted the help of the villa staff to book a mount batur tour for us with the pickup from the central area arranged at 2am. It was fuss free! They also packed a breakfast box for us the night before for the hike.

AustraliaHonestly there was nothing I didn’t like.
Staying here was a great experience because of the location in the rice field and access with the scooters made it a very memorable time. Close to markets and lots of places to eat. Friendly staff who provided us with prompt and enthusiastic service anytime we needed it.

Amazing location just the right distance between town and rural (very walkable). Tranquil in the paddy fields with a very private feel to the villas and everything spotlessly clean.

IndiaVery good property. In the middle of rice field. Close to main market. So you can have both experience in the property calmness of a village and easy access to main city hub. Supportive staff and tasty food.

FranceThe early morning can be a bit noisy because of the animals in the ricefields. Complimentary bottles of water could be added to the fruits already offered.
Amazing location in the ricefields, far from the noise of the city with a beautiful trek to join Ubud. Great villa with an outdoor shower, and very kind personnel. Very good italian restaurant in the hotel.

NetherlandsWauw! Our stay was amazing! We are travelling with our daughter (18 months) and we all felt home when we arrived. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and are great chefs! Little Robyn immediately had a couple of new aunties she fell in love with. The rooms have a great atmosphere and are located close enough to Ubud, but also far enough for peace and silence. We initially booked for 1 night, but cancelled our next hotel to stay longer. Thanks team of The Samara hotel!

AustraliaOn the walk to town, there is a steep hill to tackle, however the staff from the villa will transport you to and from town on a scooter at a moments notice.
Samara Villas is set amongst the idyllic rice fields against a back drop of banana and coconut trees in Ubud, Bali. The fields are kept bug by multiple gorgeous ducks. The staff were super friendly and exceedingly helpful. The restaurant provides excellent local and Italian cuisine. The pool is kept pristine and the gardens are beautifully manicured. There is a 2 minute walk to the spa and a 5 minute walk to town where you have all the local ware lining the main street.

AustraliaNo car access. The staff collect you from a nearby car park and take you by scooter. (The Bookings description says "shuttle" not scooter/motorbike) Staff are quick to collect you or drop you off but if you are elderly or afraid of scooters, this is not for you. The Villas are a short but steep walk from central Ubud. Our Villa was clean and comfortable but getting old and a bit tired. The roof leaked a little during storms. The shower was outside in a private enclosure.
The friendly staff were so helpful. Breakfast was fabulous, lunch and dinner average but considering the location understandable. We liked that it was out of the bustle of central Ubud. The pool was great. The Villas are surrounded by working rice paddies with very cute Running Ducks.

AustraliaWIFI. For Zoom, or if internet is absolutely crucial 24/7, then your productivity will dramatically fall, as internet is on/off. Only way I survived is by having International Roaming on. What about buying 30GB sim? I did. It didn't find the signal. Whereas Roaming allows you to select from various providers. Important: This isn't necessarily an issue of the Villa, but issue across Ubud or Telecom in Ubud.
Mainly the location I enjoyed. Bali in general is all-round fantastic service, food. But what matters most to me is a peaceful, contemplative place that's close to UBUD center (wonderful 15 min), yet completely away from it's noise and touristy vibes. I'd return here again if was visiting Ubud. It's not for immature/noisy couples or friends. But mature, respectful and cultured tourists.
