Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe pool looked like it needed a good clean. some of the internal lights weren’t working and the shower didn’t have hot water
I was booked for Villa Tulip, however when I arrived the manager relocated me to Ellora Villas which was closer to the Main Street of Sanur. The Villa had a private pool which was great. Ellora Villas is in a great location close to everything.

United KingdomIt was dirty, not been cleaned properly for a while. Glass by the pool and windows were filthy. Manager not particularly helpful, said we could leave will full refund when I complained. But we had nowhere to go. Said he would come to see us, but he never did. Staff were lovely and tried their best, but need training by said manager. No welcome drink, basket of fruit or cold towel as said on the site. No hot tub as suggested. It was a bath. Bit of mixed communication.
Pool area was lush, apart from the glass. The beds were very comfy and the lounge area was a lovely size and comfy.

AustraliaWe stayed here for 6 nights and this was our honest experience: 1. The daily breakfast was very ordinary. Basic eggs, one slice of bacon, one slice of toast with coffee/tea, small plate of the same fruits every morning (papaya and watermelon) and also no choices of juice just bottled Orange juice from the supermarket (not freshly squeezed). We asked for warm milk a few times for our coffee but were given cold milk from the fridge. No microwave so we couldnt warm anything up! 2. The upstairs toilet was not usable as it was filthy, very old and smelling. Because of this we didn't use the upstairs bedroom at all. 3. The rooms were tidied everyday but only the beds were made up and some dishes cleaned but the rest of the villa and toilets were not cleaned everyday. 4. The towels provided were old and didnt smell like they were commercially washed, most had stains and were frayed (ready to tear). 4. The entire vila is in need of some uplifting renovation and repair especially the bathroom sinks and taps which were all ancient and no hot water in the downstairs bathroom sinks. 5. The kitchen comes with cutlery and some basic utensils but we didnt touch those as they were well beyond corroded and I would not recommend using them. 5. Lastly the location is a bit of a problem if you have kids as its a good 8-9 min walk to the main street and shops because the villa is in a residential side street.
The villa size was great and the staff were friendly!

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything we didn’t like really, however some of what we expected wasn’t there. The breakfast was great but there was no restaurant which we had expected. We booked a room for three but had to pay for our son’s breakfast as only two were included in the price. This being said the staff accommodated my son’s love of watermelon every morning and the charge was very reasonable.
The Villa was huge and outside area and private pool were fantastic. The staff were very welcoming to us and our son. Location is absolutely perfect. Just close enough to the action but you are not awoken by mopeds. A short walk to the beach, bars and restaurants. Felt very safe on the walk and the locals were all so welcoming and lovely. I would highly recommend using the driver that Villa Tulip arrange he was so fantastic, bought us fresh fruit and is my boy’s new best friend.

AustraliaVilla suited our needs and the location was pretty good as we only had a short walk to the restaurant strip. The local night markets offered very inexpensive and tasty meals cooked in front of you. our first time to Sanur and we’ll definitely be back. Amazing villa although a little big for two of us it was sensational to come “home” to each night. loved it and highly recommend.

AustraliaNeeded a good clean, holes in pillows and sheets. TV mainly only Indonesian channels. Stereo didn’t work, black water for first 3 days. With a small amount of money and some TLC it would have been great
Location of 1 bedroom was good, pool was fantastic, staff good except for the person who stole our shoes

AustraliaWe had a two bedroom villa and could only use one bathroom. By the end of the second day, we had no working shower - drainage poor, shower head did not stay on the holder. The kitchen facilities and living area were shabby and dirty, mostly not in working order. One room smelled so badly of naphthalene flakes it was almost toxic. A lightbulb flashed all night and when we asked to have it fixed, it was removed and not replaced. The bathrooms were so overrun by mosquitoes that was the final straw that forced us to leave early. It was simply not relaxing to be there and everything just felt grimy and unclean.
It is hard to identify things we liked about Villa Tulip due to the overwhelming disappointment of the place on the whole. I first stayed here in 2016, and standards have significantly dropped. Obviously the pandemic has played a role in this, however basic cleaning and maintenance are being ignored. We booked 8 nights and barely made it through 3. I do need to state for the record, we did not complain nor did we request a refund when we left. We understand the hardship the Balinese have faced for the past two years, however this property is not ready for guests. A positive was that the pool was mostly clean and lovely to swim in.
