This wonderful hotel was our first overnight stay in Ireland. We were met by a very friendly hotel owner who offered us a better room than we had booked. The hotel is in perfect condition, just like from the picture in the catalogue: clean, comfortable, with a homely atmosphere. There is a cafe near the hotel where you can have a snack. We had coffee and cakes, I can't say anything about breakfast as we travelled further in the morning towards the Cliffs of Moher. I can definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

It isn't their fault, but next time I would prefer to stay right in the town of Adare because there was not much to do in Croagh, although they have a very nice shop and restaurant. I would have liked to see the animals that were still listed on the website but they are no longer there.

The room was very large and we got to check in early. The staff was friendly and responsive.

The breakfast was quite disappointing. The porridge was watery and we felt that the standard of food in the Irish breakfast and in the granola and fruit bowl was of poor quality.

A lovely quiet bedroom and it was very clean. The reception area, however, was not as clean and was not very inviting. The directions on the website to the property were not clear, there is a need to give distances in kilometres and to be more precise about the turn in from the main road and where to go from there.

Small but noisy from the road in the morning but that's nit picking. Location is great for Adare!

Really glad I stayed here! Attended a wedding in Adare and it was such good value even with a taxi fare included. Rooms are huge, spotless and have everything you need. Super comfy beds and ladies.....a full length decent mirror! The lodge doesn't do breakfast which to me is a plus, you can enjoy your lie in, check out and go for food a 60 second walk away in a beautiful garden centre. I could have stayed all day! Every staff member I came across was so friend and welcoming. 100% stay here!

Some of the furniture was a bit basic,

Lovely property run by lovely people. We had a very large room with a nice recently installed bathroom. When we checked in the owner changed our booking from a triple room to a double room (there were only 2 of us) and allowed us a lower price than we had booked! This was a very generous thing to do.

Access to the lodge can be a little confusing the first time as access is gained via a music school and garden centre car parks but thereafter is straightforward.

Ballycannon Lodge is a a purpose built facility conveniently located on the N21 adjacent to a garden centre containing a café/restaurant serving breakfasts and snacks. Our room was a good size and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast is served in the café in the adjacent (30m walk) garden centre (not included in the listed price) and was very tasty and good value. There is a very good selection of pubs and restaurants in nearby Adare, 7km along the N21, which is also worth exploring if time is available. Parking is safe and plentiful.

We found nothing to complain about.

Our room was clean, modern and spacious. Breakfast at the cafe next door was cooked to order. Above all, was our host and property owner, Mary, who could not have been more gracious and accommodating.
