How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

1 double bed was broken not comfortable atall.. Furniture was well woren out.. definitly due a refurbish but other than that house was beautiful
The house was very spacious, great location for us. Brought the family dog also. Furniture needs updated beds, sofas, kitchen etc and floors would need replaces. One of bedroom radiators not working so room was terribly cold. But enjoyed our stay.

The TV didn't work, but we weren't bothered. The 10am checkout was a bit early, especially for an off-peak winter holiday.
Good location, only 15 minutes walk into the town. Large spacious property, adequate facilities. The property was warm on arrival and kept warm throughout our stay. Staff were pleasant upon arrival and gave our two small dogs a gift. Nice touch. Thank you for a great stay. Would recommend.

It was our second time staying at Portbeg and this time we have had even better experience. The property was really clean, comfortable pillows and very clean bed linen. Staff was really friendly. Everything you need is in the property and finally the location is beautiful!

A few pound spent fixing the kitchen tap, fixing the running toilet etc wouldn’t go astray. Needs a bit of TLC. Also thought the hot water was set too low. In mid winter I wanted a hot shower, not a warm shower.
The bedrooms were bigger than average. And every bedroom had a bathroom which was great. Excellent to have the second living room with second TV. Great space for large family. Large kitchen table that seated & comfortably.

I have no complaints. Main road near entrance to holiday homes it would be the only thing that would worry me with small kids but other than that nothing 2 dislike
Location was fab we were there for New Years Eve and although freezing and wet, it couldn't take away from the beauty of the sea. We cannot wait to come back in summer. Between us we had 2 houses. They are huge and bedroom are big and spacey, noone felt like they were cramped. As for people complaining about it needing updating if it's a big country house with beautiful scenery you want then this is it. If its 5.star luxury you want go stay in the Hilton. Brilliant for families and groups I would recommend Portbeg to anyone

Everything was perfect thank you
The property was exceptional. Very clean fit for purpose everything you need for a fantastic break. The hosts were very nice and happy to help with anything very informative about the area. The holiday village is literally on the beach. A beautiful scenic nice short walk along the beach takes you into Bundoran town. Lots to do and see locally and great places to see further away.

Noise from walking on upstairs level and on stairs is quite loud. Could benefit from some heavier carpet with underlay to reduce the noise.
Spacious bedrooms each with en-suite. Fully equipped with everything you need. Home from home. Great location to explore Bundoran. Beautiful cliffside walks adjacent to property.

€15 per travel cot is ridiculous. Bed was not comfy. The showers were terrible
The houses are deceitful. Much bigger than they look. Plenty of room. All amenities in house for any family need. The location is absolutely excellent and the main highlight of the accommodation

It was very warm and the water was too hot, but we figured on the last day that the boiler had been turned up too high. Also, as it's old, it's a little dated and noisy, beds, floor boards, nothing a little spruce up couldn't sort out. The kids loved it
Great, friendly and helpful staff. Great location, clean and spacious, we would definitely book again.
