Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The breakfast was bountiful so we asked smaller portions. Any request we made was cheerfully fulfilled promptly. The staff at Gabriel House are lovely.

IrelandWe had such a pleasant stay. The staff were so welcoming and really engaged with our children. I loved that they made such an effort to use all of our names. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of options for all our dietary requirements. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the gardens were gorgeous. We particularly enjoyed our glass of wine in the garden room and the children loved playing with the dogs. We'll definitely stay again.

United States of AmericaIf you have heavy luggage, you'll have to climb a lot of stairs/hills to get to the property. There is no elevator as well if you would need one (for luggage or accessibility).
The staff was great, and the breakfast was excellent. A great value for the price, and conveniently located near the Cork Kent train station. The outdoor garden area (and dogs!) were an added bonus. The staff kindly let us store our bags until our shuttle later in the day which was so appreciated.

Everything, from the lovely check in lady who went above and beyond for me on a few occasions. I stayed for 2 nights, bed was amazing, room beauitful, the breakfast , I can safely say it would blow some 5 star establishments out of the water, it was amazing. Very central to walk to the city, just cannot say enough good things about this guest house

GermanyThe location is a bit outside, but the neighbourhood was safe enough to walk. Nothing they can change :). Besides that, we really enjoyed having shared rooms in another guest house, the space in the lobby is really limited. Maybe having a lounge corner in the dining room would be a good use.
Best breakfast in a hotel I ever had in my life. The chef is a genius! We had three different dishes and everything was really outstanding good. Second great experience: the staff! They made us feel almost home, helped with all our questions. For a day trip we got lunch bags prepared. The beds were very comfy, big enough and the room reasonably sized and well equipped. Nice view as a bonus!

ItalySoundproofing not perfect - probably reflects the age of the building. Not a problem unless you are a very light sleeper. Scrambled eggs were a little overdone for my taste, suspect this was a one off as rest of breakfasts excellent.
Comfortable room with good views. Huge bed (as we had asked for the two singles together). Good quality bed linen. Good shower. Fridge and kettle in room. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast choices with hot food cooked to order. Great coffee machine. Very close to train station and 10-15 min walk from most attractions. The garden is being redeveloped - nearly finished- with a sauna, and a day sitting room as well as a terrace. (Walk around and visit the chickens, ducks and canaries etc ). Would definitely stay here again.

IrelandWhen I arrived on a Thursday afternoon I was informed that there was a power outage affecting the entire block, so there was no electricity or running water in the room at the time. This was, of course, NOT the hotel's fault, and the services had been restored by the time I returned a few hours later.
My wife and I stayed here before and loved it! I returned this time by myself for a work-related visit. The nice ladies at reception apparently remembered me from before. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast the following morning was delicious! Also, the hotel is located on the side of a steep hill, so the views out the window were spectacular! It has its own car park with room for 10-12 cars, which is good, because street parking in that neighborhood is limited.
