How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Hotel was fine and the staff were very friendly - only stayed for one night and was not in the hotel itself much so can't comment on the night life / bar. The room was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable - there was a slight smell along the corridor when we 1st arrived but then that went away and the shower kept losing its power whilst I was using it. Apart from that everything else was fine - the bar food and the breakfast were both very good - would stay again as this is a nice homely friendly hotel.

The bedrooms need an update and there were a lot of plug-in air fresheners that were very strong. Also, our bath leaked but we were provided with towels to help!
All the staff are so lovely, from reception to restaurant and housekeeping. The renovations in reception and bar are nice.

No bath mat so slip risk when taking a shower. Sometimes no hot water from wash hand basin sink. Personal choice but not a fan of continental quilts so top sheet and blanket would be a welcome option.
Friendly helpful staff. Delicious food. Warm room. Comfortable mattress. Main street location but was quiet.

Went down to look at the rugby in the bar ,the bar staff were fantastic and turned up the TV so people could hear the match ,the second half of the match a different bar man came on when he was asked to turn the TV up he was quiet rude and said that it was a hotel not a bar 😳
I was pleasantly surprised when I went inside the property as the outside was nothing special .

I understand things need to be maintained and no doubt this was a once off, but the drilling at reception went through my head, once they're finished renovating I'm sure it won't be an issue. The room was great, big bathroom but there only seemed to hot water in the tap in the morning but not in the evening.
Location is bang in the middle of Swinford. Delicious breakfast, had the full Irish day one and the pancakes day two, best pancakes I've had in a restaurant in ages.

Only 1 issue was a little noise there were a lot of teenagers running around the corridoors but as soon as we told staff it was sorted, also 1 intoxicated guest was locked out at 2am and decided to kick the front door very loudly until the whole hotel was awake but thats no reflection on the hotel
The food was outstanding, breakfast was lovely on both mornings, we booked in for dinner on second night and the steak dinners were 1 of the best meals weve ever had, we also had a flat battery when trying to go out for the day and ross came and saved the day and went out of his way for us so cant thank him enough, would 100% recomend and stay here again.

Nothing really. Would have liked a bath sheet rather than smaller bath towels. Not there long enough but staff couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating Can’t wait to stay longer next time.

Room was not very clean and slightly run down. Empty coke can between the bed and bedside table. Also very very expensive given the location and time of year.
Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Great location in Swinford too.
