Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

More areas for potential improvement to be honest as we're repeat visitors to The Tannery which reflects how much we enjoy it. 1.) Accommodation parking was tight, however good this facility is available in a town centre. 2.) We stayed on New Years' Eve and were extremely keen to have dinner @ The Tannery. Unfortunately when we booked a few weeks in advance the website appeared as though there was only lunch service on NYE and upon arrival we realised it was open for dinner but booked out at that juncture. (Disappointed only because we love the restaurant so much). 3.) A fresh fish option on the breakfast menu would be welcome.
The room was very good value, stylish and comfortable. Very clean and in a central location, also very close to The Tannery restaurant.

A bit noisy when the pubs Chuck out on Saturday night but not too much of a problem.
Great location, lovely room and breakfast was fantastic in their restaurant just around the corner. Free parking.

Tv didn’t seem to work properly. Had to turn on and change channel with the box . Was on top floor and was extremely hot . Was ok as weather wasn’t too warm but not sure if it was hot summer day .
Lovely furnished property with everything in it you would need for short stay . Staff were excellent

Very spacious and well equipped room. Even left a proper carton of milk for teas and coffee’s! Breakfast which was included in the price was exceptional.

The location is very central. It's a Georgian townhouse so there's no lift which might be an issue for persons with limited mobility. Breakfast was superb. Free parking near the restaurant but it's limited during the day. Spaces become available after 5pm.

In general I was really happy with everything, maybe minor improvements could be recommended: -The shower took a bit long to get warm -The toilet made weird noises throughout the night -The mattress might needs to be replaced, it felt a bit worn out

The accommodation is a beautifully maintained old townhouse. We had breakfast in the restaurant around the corner from the accommodation. It was delicious and there was a wonderful selection to choose from. We also enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the Tannery. Really delicious food. The staff are exceptional. Very friendly and helpful.

The weather!!!
Our room was to an excellent standard . The bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp linen and comfortable pillows. The decor of the room was fresh and relaxing. The standard of cleanliness was super. Our meals in the Tannery restaurant were wonderful as were the staff. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

Nothing really. I was comletely delighted with everything.
The accomodation was excellently located within Dungarvan and superb as regard maintenance, presentation and cleanliness. Would absolutely recommend the Tannery without reservation. Just had plain unembellished porridge for breakfast and it was equally superb. Serious well done to Paul, Máire and all their team.
