Newtown, Ballyvaughan, Ireland

눉This is not a place for someone who wants lots of 'conveniences'. The closest amenities are in the nearby town of Balleyvaughan (10 minutes away by car). Also, although there is free wi-fi in the public areas, the signal was only strong in the room with the bar. When it came to food (other than breakfast), it was slightly inconvenient--we were there in early May during the off-season. In town, only a couple of pubs were open and serving food because of the time of year. The only negative comment I would have regarding the actual inn itself would be the garden/chapel. There is a small garden out back with a lovely fountain and chapel. The fountain needs a good clean, and the chapel needs to be aired out and cleaned. Both were great spaces; however, it was clear that they were seldom used. I would have liked to see them at their full potential
눇The location was wonderful. It was a perfect place for a few days of relaxation. The decor was unique, giving it a very rustic feel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The reading rooms were comfy, with a nice roaring fire lit every night. Breakfast was great. Fresh fruits, yogurts, and porridge as typically served at a decent continental breakfast; however, hot Irish breakfast was also included, made per each individual guests' requests. The owner was very accommodating. My wife and I needed to leave very early; before breakfast and before regular check-out. He allowed us to complete our room payment and check-out the previous evening. Additionally, he very kindly left out hot coffee, tea, bread, and fresh jams for us early in the morning, so that we could have something to eat before we left. My favorite part of the stay was the spring (the building is built over a natural spring). We were provided with a pitcher for the duration of our visit so that we could go get fresh water from the spring at any time. Nothing can beat that!

눇The room was abundantly large for our family and had large windows. The whole place is beautiful and unique. The common room was comfortable, especially at night with a nice fire in the fireplace. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts super friendly. One can take a 20-30 minute coastal drive to reach Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher.

눇Everything was perfect. Will revisit when in the area again
