Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelNothing too dramatic - I would love the minibar in the room to have something inside, it was empty (although the kitchen is open for tea/coffee/water/beverages). Another thing that brothered me a bit is that our room was located near the entrance and the kitchen and it's not sound proof. It was a bit noisy during the day (but very quiet at night)
Magical and romantic atmosphere, great location, beautiful building and well equipped room within an ancient building. The architecture and interior design is amazing. The staff were really nice.

IsraelNothing to dislike
The hotel is charming, in an historic stone home with a lovely courtyard , orchard and rooftop terrace with a lovely view of the green hills and churches of beautiful Ein Kerem. Nice that there is a spa with intimate hammam and sauna and if you’re staying in the suites, you get lovely fluffy bathrobes and slippers to use. Also nice that they offered complimentary hot vegetable soup and hot drinks on arrival.

IsraelTwo main things and one smaller one: 1. The bathrooms in the guest rooms have glass walls/glass saloon-style doors. Even though the glass is frosted/colored and in some rooms you can draw curtains around the lower part of the bathroom, it is not completely opaque and there are still gaps below and above the doors, so privacy in the bathroom is not what it should be and too much light and sound get through. Plus glass bathrooms just aren’t in keeping with the pretty Middle Eastern architectural style of the hotel. 2. Too many stairs/too little accessibility, and a real risk of tripping in some places even for the able-bodied. There are stairs and no ramp up to the reception area and very steep stairs and no elevator up to the lovely rooftop terrace. Inside both our rooms the beds were on a platform (a step up) which meant a tripping risk especially at night, and in one room the bathroom was up another step, which was actually dangerous as the step was right outside the bathroom door and if you forget about the step coming out, as we did, the result can be a nasty fall. 3. The smaller matter but still noticeable is that some of the fixtures were a bit shabby and needed repairs. In our rooms a lampshade had a tear in it, a wardrobe was chipped and part of a curtain had come off its rod, for example. Such things should be fixed.
Lovely setting in a beautiful garden, great location in a very pretty area near cafes and restaurants (although you’d be wise to have a car to go sightseeing), very good breakfast in a nice breakfast room, efficient and helpful staff, free tea/coffee in the breakfast room all day as well as coffee facilities and water in the guest rooms, very clean-looking everywhere, big, cosy, well-equipped guest rooms with comfortable beds and very nice Middle Eastern decor with pretty stone arches and niches.

ItalyEverything is lovely, but not for all budgets.
This hotel has been our home away from home in Jerusalem for years now, and it never disappoints! It's located in a quiet area, with a public (and free) parking lot just a couple of minutes on foot from the hotel; I'd suggest to have a car, because while there are a few restaurants nearby, if you want to go to Jerusalem city centre it's the best way. A big bonus of this hotel is the garden, an oasis of calm, beautiful in every season. The services and amenities are excellent and the staff goes out of their way to make guests feel home (thank you so much, we really feel part of the Alegra family!). Our favourite room is in the main building, with direct access to the garden (and when possible, the hotel accomodates our special request, like they did this time), but I can assure you that also the rooms in the building right opposite the street have the same beauty, unique style and another little garden (but guests are always welcome to come to the main building to enjoy the garden and the dining room/coffee corner). I highly recommend, at least one morning during your stay, to indulge in the rich, fresh and absolutely delicious breakfast (Israeli, with salad, bread, cheese, eggs, shakshuka... but you'll also find something if you prefer a sweet treat to start your day) - and the dining room is stunning and full of light, too!

The staff went out their way to make sure we were having a good time. The location is at the heart of a beautiful surrounding but if you need the city center you're gonna need a car

absolutely fantastic and exceptional place. One of the best boutique hotels I have ever visited. The staff of the hotel is kind helpful and I would like to mention especially the reception manager Doodi that was kind and went beyond the call of duty to help us. The rooms are large clean and very very comfortable. Breakfast is freshly laid daily and is exceptional. The area around his quaint and if you need to have breakfast or dinner you can find many nice small restaurants and brasseries.
