Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe only thing amiss as far as we were concerned was the size of the room. the room was small, even with the balcony upgrade we got.
A wonderful hotel in the most perfect location and with a warm atmosphere. It's like an oasis in the midst of the busy hustle bustle of Jaffa and the flea market. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the happy hour was a nice added touch too.

United StatesI didn't fully appreciate the compactness of the room that we requested (410 I think it was). But that was helped significantly by the very large deck facing out to the Mediteranean Sea and sweeping views of Tel Aviv.
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Then when the October 7, 2023 Hammas attack on Israel happened and we left the country early, the hotel staff were incredibly kind and helpful. For example, they went above and beyond when they helped us with answering e-mails in Hebrew to the airline companies.

Perfect location, comfortable rooms, amazing stuff and great breakfast. Unfortunately our visit in this hotel has been held during the terrorist attack on Israel. The hotel stuff has been extremely supportive in this terrifying situation. We have been taken to the shelters, the receptionist has been ordering safe taxi driver if needed and they were really flexible when it comes to accommodation dates as the situation had been dynamic.

Very cool hotel, loved the rooms and the the delicious breakfast. We borrowed bikes from the hotel and cycled around Old Jaffa, and they gave us beach bags with water and towels for the beach. We also loved the free drinks in the evening, such a lovely touch

IsraelIt's a pet friendly hotel, so the carpet had a lot of dog hair in it. Once we requested it to be cleaned it was immediately removed to make the room more comfortable, so it's not that big of a deal
The standards in this hotel are really high, but what really got us excited about the hotel is the staff. Everyone was so generous and nice, which really made for a great stay. The breakfast is one of the best breakfasts you can get in the area (which we absolutely loved) and the location is right in the center of the shops and restaurants of Jaffa (and closing the windows reduced the noise from the city)

PhilippinesWe like everything. Market House is close to perfection.
The last time we stayed in Jaffa, we stayed in a place very near Market House. But we ended up going to Market House almost everyday to have coffee. So we decided to try Market House this time and as soon as we checkin in, the amazing experience with the most friendliest staff started. The room that we requested was exactly the room we had. Then all the amazing experience started to unfold like the sumptuous breakfast spread that they served everyday. We spent at least 2 hours enjoying the good food, fresh juice and good cup of coffee. In the afternoon starting at 5pm to 8pm cocktails is served. Local Israeli wines, paired with nuts, dates, vegetables and many more. The location is near the clock tower and flea market. Around the area are countless stores, restaurants, bars and other interesting shops. But what we like most about Market House that we will never forget are the people that run the hotel. They are the most friendliest staff we’ve ever experienced in any hotel in the world we travelled. For me and my wife, Market House is our second home and a family away from home. Market House will be our home when we are in Tel Aviv.

I liked everything at Market House Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, the facilities in the building including breakfast and happy hour were excellent, the location in Jaffa was very central and close to the old city, and overall it was an excellent place where I would definitely stay again!

United StatesNo complaints.
Great location, beautifully laid-out. The walls of an ancient building visible through glass floor panes was an unexpected and fascinating touch. The hotel is a short walk to both Old Jaffa / Yafo, and the sea. In addition, the happy hour was a nice touch for weary, hungry travelers. Finally, we were travelling early, and the staff provided a boxed breakfast for us. We’d like to give a shout out to Avi, who was excellent, and gave us great advice about places to see, and restaurant recommendations.
