Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI thought the facilities could be better maintained. Maybe a coat of paint and a bathroom remodel.
I was there during a difficult period, when war had broken out. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind.

CanadaThe first room they put us in was not good. Twin beds, no air conditioning, beside the main road. It was noisy. We told them we'd be checking out after one night. 2nd night non refundable but we didn't care. We came back from dinner and they upgraded our room.
The second room they put us in was great. Double bed, quiet, air conditioning, courtyard/balcony. The staff were very friendly and eager to ensure we were happy. I think we were the only foreign guests at this hotel.

PolandGreat and friendly staff, tasty breakfast with various selections of local products. Location is great, 2 minutes walking from Pater Noster church, 10 minutes from Gethsemanie Garden, and aproxx. 20 minutes from Old City. Just keep in mind that hotel is located on the hill, therefore you have to climb that bloody mountain everyday ;D But the amazing panoramic view on the City walls and Dome of the Rock it's something that makes it much easier!

BrazilInitially we had booked the standard room, but it is really outdated, with a very old carpet that is dirty and with cigar smell. They are renovating the hotel and the premium rooms are nice. We upgraded and after that it was smooth. The breakfast really needs to be improved. There is no cheese, no ham, no scrambled eggs, a few fruits not cut, no fresh milk (only powder) and no coffee machine (just powder). They need to improve the breakfast in order to have more occidental guests. There is no service for food at the hotel but you can find some places to buy things.
Location is amazing, the staff is really nice and try to help you. Special thanks to Youssef.

RomaniaThere is a mosque very close and the speakers are pretty loud during the morning prayer. There is a small restaurant across the street. Better read the reviews before going there. The reception staff should be more welcoming to tourists, they need to learn more how business is done in tourism.
Location on the top of Mount of Olives, in the Arabic neighborhood, so you need to take an Arabic bus/taxi to reach this spot. Climbing the road on foot on a sunny day is not easy. The room was very clean and nice. From my experience, it was better than other hotels in the same price range. (Of course, we are not talking about European standards)

CanadaThe cleaning staff used to rush me for cleaning at 7:45 to 8:45. I usually vacate the room at 9:30 in order to enjoy a good rest. Breakfast could be improved
The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. The breakfast was okay but could be improved. The staff were nice. The location was good though a bit far from the city center but much closer to the Old City of Jerusalem.

We stayed for 6 nights. Location was great to Old City, about a 20 minute walk. Staff where very helpful, we especially loved Mohammed the young man who worked in the kitchen, he was so helpful every day and so kind to us. He went out of his way to make sure we were OK. There were shops and restaurants nearby, with an ATM across the road Staff were also amazing when I found out the night before that the next day was Yom Kippur, and that all the roads, transport and borders would be closed. They helped me get hold of the border to see if it was open and also arranged transport for me to get there so I wouldn't miss my flight from. Amman in Jordan. We really enjoyed our stay, thankyou for everything
