Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWhile not unusual in Israel, some of the staff weren't exactly friendly. Not rude either, just not very welcoming. Some were very helpful and kind.
The complimentary, Mediterranean-style breakfast was GREAT. A lot of variety and healthy options, like hummus, pickled veggies, wheat rolls, eggs, olives, salsa, potatoes, coffee, milk, and cereal. It definitely helped to start us off on a positive note each day. The views from our room to the Old City of Jerusalem were stellar. The Jerusalem lightrail train passes nearby, and there is a prominent stop within relatively easy walking distance. Also, a number of buses pass by on a main thoroughfare. (We were told this main street used to be the partition line between East and West Jerusalem. The hotel is on the east side in a mixed Christian and Muslim neighborhood. The opposite side of the street is mostly Jewish neighborhoods.) The room was plain, but clean and met our requirements for having a decent-enough place to stay during our week-long trip. An interesting fact about the property is that it hosts a beautiful chapel. It's super-close to the Garden Tomb site, and it's about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on how fast you're going, to reach the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem. As a side note, a rocket attack from Gaza started during our stay. Rocket alarms sounded in our neighborhood. The stairwell of the hotel offered a solid place to shelter, but there isn't a dedicated bomb shelter.

United States of AmericaI booked last minute so maybe my room was facing the street. It was a little noisy with horns. But it did not impact my sleep. Was just something I noticed. I would stay here again.
I liked the location, right by the garden tomb and near the Damascus gate. The breakfast was really amazing and the people working there were very kind. The room was very clean.

GermanyThe breakfast was a bit too early. From 7 to 9am only so I didn't get to go to any. Would be nice to extend it to 9:30 or 10am, however according to my brother it was a very nice and tasty food and nothing was missing.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious enough for 2 as we had one with 3 single beds. The cleaning lady was very nice and did a great job each time she checked our room. The location was very close to Nablus terminal bus station and 10mn walk to Jerusalem old city and Damascus gate bus station where you could catch the bus to Tel aviv (35 shekels), Bethlehem (24 shekels) or Hebron (25 shekels). The guesthouse IS the church of Saint Thomas , they are 2 parts the left side is the guesthouse and the right side is the church. Overall we like the place and even extended our stay per 1 night.

ItalyThe building is nice on the outside, but the interior doesn't reflect this aspect. There was a visible and removable stain on the nightìstand, also the bathroom door and glasses were quite dirty. Unfortunately all of this is enchanced by the overall oldness of the building.
Staff was helpful when needed, also they changed the towels and made up the room every day. Bed was a bit soft but never had too much trouble sleeping.

NetherlandsI was a bit disappointed by the the desk which was very small and it did not have a proper chair. The housekeeping staff didn't speak English, which caused some miscommunication about cleaning the room.
The location, so near the Damascus Gate, is great. In just 5 minutes, one will be in the Old City. I loved the magnificent views from the rooftop in all directions.

United KingdomAbove the door to the room is a small window so at night, if someone has a light on in the corridor, it shines into the room. The staff were helpful and stuck a piece of cardboard to the window to leases the brightness.
