We returned to Periyar House after 40 years. It has been upgraded and all necessary amenities have been provided.

Great to be able to stay in the national park. Highlight was the nature walk, well worth doing..

The hotel has a curfew of 5.30pm as it is in the National Park. You cannot walk around the national park after this time, nor can cars come in. The only option for dinner is the hotel restaurant, which we did not enjoy. There are no recreational activities in the hotel and your wifi allowance does not allow for streaming shows or much internet use. If we had known this prior to booking we would have chosen alternative accommodation so we could take advantage of the views of the national park, local restaurants and sunsets.

The staff were wonderful! Really kind and welcoming. They were our favourite part of our stay. The facilities are comfortable. It is close to the boat ramp.

The lassi served in restaurant is actually not lassi, its churned butter. Please refer to the original recipe to make the changes needed .

The rooms weren't upto mark, and wasn't clean. They didn't provide drinking water and we had to request again to get it. Note that there wasn't intercom in the rooms we stayed.

It is located inside Periyar Tiger Reserve and is a great location for the stay.

Monkey menace is a serious issue there. The only option is to keep door and windows closed at all times. Since the hotel is located within the tiger reserve, guests are supposed to be in the hotel latest by 5.30pm. No movement beyond the hotel premises is permitted after 5.30pm. Hence one will be restricted to spend the evening and night at the hotel. Options for some indoor/ outdoor games for adults can also be provisioned.

The hotel is located inside the tiger reserve. Boat landing point and nature walk are within walkable distance. Staff were extremely cooperative. They informed us about the monkey menace and the precautions that need to be taken. Room was well maintained with good linen and blanket. Bathroom had hot and cold water at all times. Breakfast was not buffet type; instead it was a limited menu one. But the food was offered real quick and was indeed tasty. Ample parking space available for vehicle parking. Children's play area is well maintained.

Food is not a good quality, very complicated process to buy tickets, no international credit card accepted, need separate tickets for everything still when I arrived for the night trek they didn't have my ticket and had to prepare the leech socks, torch etc upon my arrival. Need advance notification to just let the driver inside the place for pick up. No animals seen in the reserve except for deers and birds so not much to do there overall.

Health faucet has to be provided in the bathroom. Building parapet cleaning is to be further improved. Food rates are a bit costly for the common man.

1) you have absolutely no activity after 5 30 And there is nothing to do inside this hotel, not even a board game so u have to plan accordingly 2)the rooms picture varied from what's posted here and what was available and had a dingy smell which I dint like but other than that our stay was very pleasant

1) locality, it is very close to all the activities related to the tiger reserve. 2) food was very nice considering its inside the tiger reserve. Though food taste was good one day and our rooms picture was differentaverage another day. The took extra effort to bring food to is when we came late from trekking. 3)staffs are very friendly and very helpful. 4) the price is very reasonable considering the locality
